Wow. Nearly double the threshold and he'll get off with a fine. Just wow

I don't think too many people will be surprised at the decision due to the high profile of the trainer and the obvious desire of authorities to lessen the damage to the reputation of Australian racing.
Unfortunately they just make it look like a joke.
May as well throw the rule book away!

That is as bad as it gets for Australian Horse racing. Far worse and far more damaging than having him convicted.
If you have to be a "someone" to get this decision, then racing is in more trouble that the greyhound industry in Queensland.

well, oil beef hooked..but I told you months ago that he would get off.
just look at the high profiles, not necessarily in racing who "get off"..high profile tax cheats, p*ssed drivers, assaults etc etc.
the "tax cheats" are on our doorstep.
just the way the world works, boys.
I am not sure that being cleared of deliberate administration will save him completely.
After all how many of those that have been disqualified have been found guilty of deliberate administration as that is almost impossible to prove.
From the Moody judgement
"Thus, whilst we are satisfied that the prohibited substance found its
way into Lidari as a result of something occurring within the stables,
we are not comfortably satisfied that Mr Moody administered or caused to
be administered that substance for the purpose of affecting the
performance or behaviour of a horse - in this instance, Lidari - in a
race."

I thought that also Aquinita......but lets wait and see. I really do wonder why the stipe's charge them with deliberately administering anything to gain an advantage...Unless you have it on video it is very hard to prove...I hope the penalty come swiftly and is very hard.. Otherwise, they are wasting everyone's time
Why isn't the charge allowing a horse to race with "illegal substances in its system" or similar, so that the investigators can prove the case unreservedly.
Anyway, they need to be able to prove the charge before laying it. How do they think they can really prove someone deliberately administered cobalt
.
How can he prove he didn't?
He has come up with an excuse however implausible.
Kavanagh and O'Brien both denied knowledge of the administration.
Do I believe any of them?
The facts are all three presented horses with illegal doses and should be punished accordingly.
The big question is what protection do people in this industry who don't want to cheat have?
Under the current authorities I think the answer is - very little.

this is my point of view too Jum.....With that many staff in his compound and evidence given - by him - that he isn't hands on and not a very good people person, he has set it up for a fine and a slap on the wrist about better procedures in his stables.....
As a professional work place his Duty of Care to his staff - and clients - seems to have been forgotten...maybe I have just spent too long in dangerous industries. But you cant use poor procedures and not being a good people person, as an excuse for any mishaps in the work places I've been in for over 20years.
Exactly Rio.
If I showed this sort of poor management in my position, with that much disregard to my duty of care. I would be held accountable and not have a job. It is the boss's job to implement systems and procedures and make sure they are followed correctly. Just ask James Hird.
The buck stops with the Man at the top.
Effectively 6 months, commencing March 24.
Another one back for Spring.
He has also been allowed to continue training for a very long time since the swab, whereas some trainers are stood down immediately.
He definitely has been given preferential treatment because of his high profile.
most of his horses will go for a nice winter spell in some lush paddocks, go to top pre-trainers and then come back for the spring.
pete and his missus can spend a few months in the greek islands and/or the italian riviera and come back as fresh as daisies.
