Why not get Ollie for the Cup would be my 1st choice but agree the bloke has been riding avg for a long time is a top 3 chance in the Cup on yesterdays run

a quick check says that before yesterday, his last winner for kersley was on the 29/05/14 at northam on colombard, and there has been 51 losses since.

most of them are on horses not in the betting though, so it may not tell the story.

it may be the trainer is not going much chop either, as his recent record is not too hot compared to his overall record.

Are not the success of Trainers, Owners and Jockeys cyclical ?

Mate you can have favs all day but end result is they still have to win ,Peters / Williams /Durrant /Pike

    :-? Spot the common denominator?
How many Saturday winners have Williams, Durrant & Pike had without Peters?

you can't put Williams and Pike in that equation, legless, as they are both tied almost exclusively to peters.

and why wouldn't they be - when your'e on a good thing as they say - stick to it $-)

Query is - are they as good as the stats suggest  or are they simply preparing/riding horses that are panels above the competition in ability ?

We should celebrate it for what it is and not read anything else into their success.

Bob Peters doesnt do much for the  WA breeding scene does he. MM must wish he would dry up and blow away! Wonder how he would go if he just bred to WA stallions. He really does lift the bar here.........without his horses his trainers come back to the pack.

    :-? What is IT?
Are the horses so much better than the competition I.E BP breeds better stock than anyone else here in WA can breed or purchase, or are they being prepared and/or ridden much better than the horses they are competing against?

Superior breeding and very astute operator........learns from mistakes, and successes and acts accordingly. H as nothing to hide as he auctions of regularly, giving us plebs the opportunity to buy his stuff. But buyer beware........

How did Longma produce that after last start? Blinkers on, maybe but check the brands. I'm not sure it is the same horse :O

Always back up champ and win
    B-)

I thought it was a wet tracker. All its best runs here in Sydney were on rain affected going.

Grant only trains for BP... But the way Adam is going at the moment he would be absolutely rooted without BP. Horses are going very average.

    Trains for others

The real question is how many horses does BP have, if I had that many in work I'd expect to be winning races........ Anyone got a rough guesstimate as to numbers????

If he sends one of these East in the near future, you'd think he would leave them with Durrant or Williams, surely they have proved themselves, hate to see another butcher job like Lords Ransom.

have heard he has in excess of 50 broodies :-??

Reset has a lower than usual fertility rate than other comparable stallions. As a result not many are offered for sale as he is a commercial risk that your mare won't get in foal. But if your mare carries to full term, then his hit rate is enviable.

I bought one for Sam called Resetgold. She was stakes placed and won three, but placed in many more. I think they are fabulous stock if you can get one.
