there is a maximum topweight in nearly every stakes race hcp in wa, the peters being the only exception i can think of.
so no matter how often they win 61 is the max they can carry.
for a very good horse, 61 means they might be thrown in at the weights, and if i was in the business of handicapping there would be NO maximum topweight.

And just to add a bit more fuel to Carey's fire, Luckygray still destroyed his rivals carrying 61 kilos in last years Belmont sprint and he clocked a sub 34 sectional for his final 600m. So if he did (not necessarily does) receive 61 kilos everytime he raced under Handicap conditions then he could still win easily enough although the odds would be against him doing it on a consistent basis. There are a lot more options for him over east though and it'll be interesting to see if Shaun O'donnell continues riding him too :-/

Yehhhhh he is going to Melbourne and SOD has no chance of keeping the ride didnt no if you new but there are some handy jocks in Melb ?? then again after this horses last prep of wanting to run into BC it wouldnt suprise me at all what the connections would do
