how late it was i am not sure, but it was VERY late.
I do know that sky had the wrong jockey listed when the the race finished.
The plunge was I think because of the combination of the change of trainer, a significant improvement and coming off the back of a handy trial with Military Secret running a huge race on Saturday at Ascot and the lack of depth in the field.
I must admit I thought it would be hard to beat but missed the price and wasn't going to take that price from that alley as was having a good day and had no need to take the shorts about a horse like that.
If you're going to bet from the outside or near the outside gate you would much rather have Whiting on than Yuill, that's a no brainer but then again I am unaware of the circumstances that some on here are referring to other than what I saw for myself and ozbet definitely had Whiting down as the rider for comfysofa I estimate somewhere between around an hour to half an hour prior to the event.

What was the point of this statement?
Everyone is aware of the rule, its about RWWA taking responsibility for the error and wearing a loss instead of the punter.
Instead they choose to hide behind the rule, and treat punters with disdain.
Do these guys have any idea what they're saying.
This is supposed to be a service industry that relies on the customers confidence in the product.
Professionalism, these clowns wouldn't know the meaning of the word, surely they must be going to compensate the punters who had light 'n' easy correctly for second in quinella's, exacta's, trifecta's etc.
-Should it have been made = NO
-Should the employee be disciplined = YES!
-Will this incident provide those with agendas more fodder to carry on with for the next week = Regrettably.... Yes I-)
What a surprise that's there no mention of the numerous previous stuff ups by RWWA judges or that there is zero accountability for any mistakes made by RWWA and that RWWA's approach to the management of this industry is at best grossly unprofessional and at worst an absolute joke.
Reported in my opinion exactly as RWWA would have wanted it to be reported.

Racing and Wagering WA officials were left red-faced after a judging error incorrectly gave Redwood Rose second place ahead of Light ‘N’ Easy in race one at Pinjarra yesterday.
The error was not picked up until after correct weight was declared, leaving some exotics punters who had placed bets on the quinella, exacta, trifecta or first four out of pocket.
Light ‘N’ Easy started at $14 and Redwood Rose was the $3.20 favourite for the race, won by Nunca Te Rindas.
The result was overturned in RWWA’s official race result, correctly giving connections of Light ‘N’ Easy second place prizemoney and Redwood Rose third place prizemoney.
RWWA chief handicapper David Hunter was the judge on duty and said it was his first error in 12 years.
“I made a mistake,” Hunter said.
“The result was corrected but the rules are clear that the dividends can not be changed after correct weight.”
Exactly how many times do these sort of incidents and worse have to happen before something is done.
If this happened in any other industry with this amount of money regularly channeled through it these people would be out on their ear so fast their heads would spin, yet remarkably no one within RWWA is ever accountable for anything.
Surprise surprise in the following 2 and a bit hours not a soul from TAB would comment on the matter.
As for our media over here something happens to a footballer and the media are all over it, in racing not a mention anywhere, never a hard question asked to trainers or jockeys only the light and fluffy stuff.

It is just one mistake after another with RWWA. Western Australian racing is losing all credibiilty with the continual run of HONEST mistakes and comedy stuff ups. Yesterday I would love to know what happened with the riding change from Kyra to Fish - for me this is potentially the bigger story especially given the horse firmed from 7 to 2 into odds on..
My apologies if I'm missing anything.
where were the connections/trainer/jock of the offending horse? surely the jock must have known he ran 2nd..
what about the punters where was the cry "you mugs have got the placings arse about?

Just can't help but feel you crave such incidents and pounce on them like a starving cat. You then squeeze every ounce of life out of them, not for the betterment of the industry, but for your own personal agenda. Perhaps I'm wrong, perhaps not......
What I am trying to illustrate is that all of these things are symptomatic of the fact that RWWA is poorly managed from the top downwards, there are a litany of unsavoury incidents, constant mistakes and in some case outright criminal behaviour i.e. the riding fee scandals, a stewards leaving the scene of an accident, yet nothing changes as duck and cover is their company motto, it's a simple as that.
It does however, really get up my nose that hard working industry people who often do have a genuine excuse due to time constraints etc are held to account for every single error they make, no matter how minor, yet the same standards are never applied to those running the show.

A potentially embarrassing investigation looms after a judging mix-up rewarded undeserving punters in a race in Pinjarra on Sunday, while leaving legitimate "winners" out of pocket.
After the first race at Pinjarra on Sunday, correct weight was declared on No. 8 Nunca Te Rindas beating No. 15 Redwood Rose, with No. 12 Light 'N' Easy third and No. 10 Paths Of Victory fourth.
But a quick examination with the naked eye of the photo finish print reveals an obvious margin to Light 'N' Easy finishing second ahead of Redwood Rose.
The error has already been corrected on the Racing and Wagering WA website but punters who backed Light 'N' Easy to finish second in multiples such as exactas, trifectas or first fours have done their money cold.

"Once the correct weight is declared and the all clear is given, we pay out on those dividends," the WA TAB's David Shortte said.
"It's an unfortunate situation but there is nothing we can do about it.
"It works both ways - Redwood Rose was the favourite and punters who had her to finish second will have won when they probably shouldn't.
"On the other hand, those who had Light 'N' Easy to finish second will miss out."
Shortte said there was no avenue to assist legitimate "winners" who had ended up out of pocket, ruling out refunds for punters who backed Light 'N' Easy to finish second.
He described the situation as rare but not unprecedented and said there were similar incidences "across the world" every year.
It is understood Racing and Wagering WA has launched an investigation to determine how the error occurred.

RWWA has erred by not honouring losing "winning" bets. An ex-gratia payment would certainly help punters to bet local.
From a public relations viewpoint that should have been a no-brainer.
