Barton Cockburn ( warned off all tracks for life ) his lawyer stated just last month in court..'everybody's doing it'. Charming.
Gordon Gecko - 'greed is good'.
Similar i reckon to Ben Sarina - whio was once a very good freelance driver and a likeable bloke - however got warned off indefinetly - and i can remember reading the case - he had no education at all - but he was making decent money 70k to 80k a year - and then they do so something to take that living way - they must be kicking themselves for being so stupid . And as Graeme Lang consistently said ( he had a farm as well ) he never considered the horses as work - or as Darel Graham recently said ( when he looked like being suspended for a cobalt breach ) - i will just have to out and get a "real job " for a while
Account was allegedly in operation for ten years and over one 16 month period, $1.77 million was moved through it.
Queensland Pacing - crooked one day - criminal the next. Greedy twats. Think they'll live forever and then take it all with them...counting their beans all the way to the finish line.
A punter on QLD harness racing would have no confidence in their industry
Thats whats use to happen in several states in the 60s and 70s - where you basically had to win - " in turn " and thus the trots were given the Red Hots label
I can remember Rex Hocking - a very prominent and very good Eastern States trainer/reinsman of that era - i think he might have won a Miracle Mile with a horse called Reichman - late 60s early 70s
Anyhow he gave the game away before he hit 40 - and they( the media ) said why did you quit - and he said it was simple - you had to win in turn - and he had a habit of winning out of turn ( trying to win all the time )
And they said to him - if you keep winning out of turn - your daughter ( he had a daughter who was 9 or 10 at the time ) - then something will happen to her . As soon as they threatened that - he quit overnight - got totally out and never came back

Google Trista Dixon fine , that gets the ball rolling.
Just on Grant Dixon ( and i havent followed or bet on Qld harness racing for 7 or 8 years - watch a few A/Park and Redcliffe and thats about it ) - but i never thought he has ever been charged for race fixing - im not niave - but he has got a huge stable - so why would he risk it - i think that linked article is a load of rubbish
I also thought he had suffered from serious illness - which still restricts him a bit
As for his wife with the incident using her foot - what you have to realize - some horses ( and maybe that horse in question ) having plenty of dirt in the system - some horses you wouldnt enter their box and fill their feed bin while the horse was in the box - otherwise you might not come out
Mick Mallyon who was a champion jockey - got fined several times for using the butt of the whip on the horses - . The point im making you would have to know the nature of the horse involved
Any race fixing allegations at the Trots - you have to know what they are . If they are simply 2 drivers discussing a race ( and maybe on phone tap) and 1 driver says yeah i will hand up the lead - a bit like 1 jockey saying to another - i will ensure good pace - that isnt race fixing - that has been happening for 50 years - and would happen in every state probably every 3rd mth . That is 1000% different to a driver deliberately not trying - and pulling the horse
However from a legal aspect ( who have no knowledge of racing ) they will beat their drums and call it race fixing
'From a stakeholders point of view, whether you're a trainer, driver, an owner, a breeder, these are unprecedented times.
They're low on morale - they don't know who the next person ( arrested ) may be'.
Disqualified driver Barton Cockburn told the court through his lawyer that 'everybody's doing it' .
Fowler also said that investment by punters at Redcliffe and Albion Park is hardly at an all time high...now he's not wrong there...the other day at Redcliffe when the field was moving up the win pool on Uni Tab ( that's the whole of Queensland and South Australia combined ) was just on $800.
Whilst stakeholders morale are as Fowler says at an all time low in Queensland - it shows punters are running a very close second.

People say why do well off people, highly involved and respected in the game do these sort of things ?
Well why would two incredibly wealthy Waterhouses get involved in the Fine Cotton saga ?
Because there bloody greedy - that's why.
Goodness gracious he doesn't hold back.
If that bloke is suggesting anything untoward about Greg Sugars - then i think that bloke is totally deluded and totally lost his marbles
I did read his previous libellous vitriol - the bloke probably hasnt got a penny to his name
