Sydney lose to freo then they will have to play hawks in the prelim, if they beat freo then they play wce in the prelim (a game I can see them winning) therefor making the GF but not winning it against hawthorn, either way the hawks will knock them off at some stage of the final series imo
If,and that's a big if with Schofield at this stage, if they have both of them available then they're a huge chance as they had no Naitanui and no Sinclair the first time around and when Lycett understandably ran out of petrol and McGovern went down that's when the Hawks got on top at the end.
I've said it before and I'll say it again the Eagles if they can put out anything resembling what what they've had available this year out on the park with preferably no McGinnity then they're in this up to their ears.
Should not you have said something along the lines of - I dont think Sydney will make the GF, let alone win it, UNLESS ( read as if, if, if, if ) of course they have a massive form turnaround and Tippet and Franklin can bag 6 each every game of the finals! Nothing like 2c each way =)) :)) :)>- ;))
'Only injuries' so are you injury free now with two weeks to go ?

With them they're a huge chance with only McGovern and Barrass or say Schofield and Barrass it's just asking too much, surely commonsense tells you that there is a breaking point and we saw that last week.
Yes the Eagles seemingly had an RDO and never turned up and their midfield pressure wasn't there but they were still seriously exposed virtually for the first time all season by Adelaide's big forward without Schofield and with the inexperienced and physically immature Tom Barrass trying to hold down a key defensive post in conjunction with a rusty McGovern who was then injured.
The fact they were also missing Wellingham further exacerbated an already imposing situation and the lack of midfield pressure wasn't helped either by Masten's absence.
With McGovern and Schofield fit and healthy in the backline they're a serious chance, without them it's just asking too much, if Butler can be out there as well it's an added bonus as he's been very good when he's been able to get out on the park and his return this week will help immensely.
The good new is no McGinnity this week as with the return of Butler and Masten and Wellingham he's been squeezed out, so our chances again improve without him on the field.
I'm under no illusions that we're anywhere near as talented across the board as the Hawks, clearly we're not but when the Eagles bring the right effort and application they've played some outstanding team footy this season.
The likes of Naitanui and Darling who both still have more upside and Kennedy can give us the edge against the Hawks potentially if we can have the talls available to hold down the defence which would free up Yeo to be the additional offensive weapon we need.
Make no mistake the Hawks are potentially vulnerable especially against us if we move the ball swiftly and directly and hit our targets up forward.
There's a big chance we can get right on top of them in the centre with Naitanui and Sinclair's likely availability and they have the potential to control the ruck as they were both missing the first time around.
Put it this way, if we can put the right side out on the park I'll be confidently backing the Eagles to beat them.

who will play in the grand final.
I predict... NOT SYDNEY.... no ifs, no buts. Im not Andrew you know!!!
Unlike most Dockers supporters in my assessment I rely on logic not just blind faith, blind faith won't help them come finals time, only vastly improved form, which apparently is just going to be plucked out of thin air :)
Even the coach said repeatedly during those last two weeks that we're scraping the bottom of the barrel in regards to our list, but you know more than the coach I suppose.
