Very hard to compare eras Vinnie......I'll need time to think about that one.....Binshaw, Beau Don, Frosty Nelson, Satinover, Dainty' s Daughter, Renaud, San Simeon, Norms Daughter.....good question. It cuts out Mt Eden, Steelo, Village Kid, James Eden, Baltic Eagle, Jack Morrisetc etc.

Think you should include the Whitby horses in that equation, Whitby's Miss Penny and Whitby Timer were two of the most exciting locally bred horses I've seen. Perhaps some of the Lombardo horses would be locally bred, think Chandon might have been sold at the Victorian yearling sales so that rules him out if correct.

Its a minefield these days with AI and is it a WA bred if the mare is sent East for mating then bought home to foal??....just too hard. Has The Answers, Pyramus, Bin Oro, Color Glo, Radiant Oro, Red Vicar, Kolworth Nixon Adios.......as well as those mentioned above from the "Whitby" plus Binshaw Dainty's Daugher, Frosty Nelson, Beau Don, San Simeon, Norms Daughter...all of whom I know where concieved and born in WA......and someone will come up with other nomination. Showing my era for what the individual horse bought to Trotting via both wins and public interest. I'll simply say Binshaw and Dainty's Daughter as bride and groom and Radiant Oro and Norms Daughter as runners up.....Very honorable mentions to Frosty Nelson and Pyramus with Shattering Class and Whitby's Miss Penny rounding out the bridal party.....but that leaves out Beau Don, San Simeon,Satinover,  Sinn Fein, Color Glo and the other Whitby's ....and Red Vicar and Bin Oro and Kolworth and ............Has The Answers ......aarrgh....too hard..

San Simeon would be my choice considering his record but all of the above champs would have to be considered.

Yes, very good ...and I mean very good..horse but don't know where he was bred. Did Jet Laag ever stand in WA......not up with that sort of info. Certainly out of a WA mare .....listed in stud book as bred By Lombo Standardbreds WA so ....I don't know. Thats why its so hard to include the modern era with Artificial Insemination, shuttle stallions and the like. Had his first 3 starts in WA for Graham and Chris Lewis.

Yes you are correct it is a hard one AI is a grey area I suppose if the foal is born in WA I guess it makes it a sandgroper .... tailor made Lombo probably another AI foal but wasn't she sensation first million dollar mare in Australia if my memory serves me well

What about those races where their were about 8 or 9 runners and Tindale trained all off them! Some of them though could not get out of their own way! But I guess a case of seeing who can run and who can't . Was strange though watching a race with all starters running for the one trainer.

Ebony Rock was a nice horse from the 70s 1:58.6 bred in west swan by a old polish bloke ,Mister Karamea was born on the same street!! so many great horses have come from WA the more I think the more names pop into my head...... I really love the Standardbred .

I am sure Mister Karamea was bred by Noel Simpson in NSW out of a mare called Miss Carlisle......because we had his brother (Mighty Karamea by Thor Hanover) ...had great potential but absolutely a vet's worst nightmare in the legs department. I think Mister Karamea was by another of Simpson's sires..Meadow something and I think John Deane of Pinjarra bought him at a yearling sale. A lot of "thinks" there but pretty sure he wasn't foaled in West Swan.

I don't know it was way before my time, just remember seeing his replays on the channel 7 trots replays when I was a kid and liked the name and from reading about him in the paper at the time.
