I know it's the first year but it reminds me a bit of the Railway, same suspects, significantly higher prizemoney.

The field has been declared and the barriers drawn for Australia’s richest weight-for-age race, the $4 million Group I Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Randwick on Saturday.

The Queen Elizabeth Stakes is now the jewel in Sydney racing’s crown, surpassing the Cox Plate as the wealthiest race run under weight-for-age conditions.

Four of Chris Waller’s five runners drew the outside quartet of gates while favourite Carlton House will jump from barrier five.

A total of 12 acceptances were received for the world's richest 2000 metre race run on turf.

The final field and barrier draw for the 2014 Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes is.

Carlton House, Silent Achiever & Royal Descent will fight it out imo. I remember backing Eremein when he won it and from memory he was the first horse to complete the Ranvet-BMW-QE treble so Silent Achiever has history against her. I thought Royal Descent was one run short in the Doncaster and was only beaten by a daredevil ride by Zac Purton who took all the shortcuts on Sacred Falls. Waller wins just about every race of significance 1600m and beyond so I will be sticking with Royal Descent at this stage. The heavier the track the better for her, the more it dries out her advantage shrinks. In the early markets on sat day she was a discernible firmer in the market $13-$8.50 on the day but the official fluctuations have her $7-$8.50.

got to admire Mr Hickmott, it must be hard to be gagged for your whole career while training for Mr Williams.

There is only one man who sets the training regime for Green Moon and hes one of the best that will never be trainers who can set a horse for a specific race wet track the query but Green Moon has been set for one race and one race only and its the QE2 hes my GET ON for this Saturday if he runs

I may have backed it if I hadn't heard about it falling over in the stalls. Sometimes too much information is a bad thing.

  • TheFunksterTheFunkster    3,840 posts
    $25k
  • SPUDLEYSPUDLEY    1,584 posts
Easy knowing Arrowfield it will be at least $50k
  • Thoroly_BreadThoroly_Bread    2,348 posts
    I would be guessing 66k
  • DamienWyerDamienWyer    8,008 posts
    Sntizel started out at $33,000

Not a Single Doubt at $13,750

    Smart Missile at $22,000

So I don't think they go nuts like quite a few studs do with Stallion pricing. Anything circa $30,000 would be reasonable enough. He will be highly commercial when put across the right mare.

Pace was to hot for Green Moon he needs them to go at a walk....I think at 30k he will be a busy horse this breeding season.
