Big day of racing at Esperance, hope to get there, the Cup now worth $65,000 a big jump up on previous Cup stakemoney.

Also noticed they are starting a maximum 16 in the Cup, which will not be a problem for the spacious track there.

Seems a strange purchase, I would have thought that it may be for future breeding purposes but have now seen it is a gelding.

Think it was bought to Aus by Sydney interests (Peters may have been part owner), went no good so he took the lot.

For a $65K race the cup is outstanding. Considering some of the crud served up at Ascot on Saturday's for a mere $15K less . . .

Very unlucky last start in town, blocked most of the way in the run home.

Well done to Frank Maynard for winning the cup with Gold Broker. And a big congratulations to Danielle Conroy for landing her biggest win to date on cup day.

Always nice to see an apprentice win a big race like that. Way to go Dani =D> :-bd

A friend of mine passed away in Toowoomba last night. I've been waiting for Yindu who had won at Toowoomba on debut and today was the day. He loved a punt and I reckon he just backed his first winner in heaven.

Great day of racing, such an impressive place The Esperance course on and off the track.

    Yindu very impressive

Not sure what the Cup finish looked like on TV but a mass of horses (16 in fact) hit the line with not much between first to last, hard to know who was what  (as 6 races gone and many beers), as they were all converging on the winner late.

Brilliant season. Why is it these clubs are being so much more succesful than PR??

Amelias Storm - what a marvel - ruining Cup quartets for about 4 years..

He sees the word 'Cup' in the Tabform on Friday and lifts about 10 cogs. Pretty sure was meant to be his last run he was going that bad - then pulls out a blinder at cricket score odds.

    Great photo Wal.

Shame there is not any photo's from Esperance, they appear to have missed the gun on Social Media, they don't seem to have a Facebook similar to Albany & Geraldton who put up heaps of photo's from there meetings
