Ascot R1. Crown Perth Handicap Preview - Greg Hooper
None of these first starters particularly impressed me in the trials so I’ll stick with the race form.
There doesn’t look to be much between (1) Trichologist and (4) Yaloginda, I’ll go for the latter just but a lot will come down to gets the better luck in running.
(3) DA SNIP ‘N’ WIN has been sound at both his two race track starts.
(8) SECRET DIVA was an OK trial winner.
4. BISCAY BEAR - 1. CYCLONIC HALO - 3. THAT MEANS HORSE

This is another race where I suspect the winner will come from my top two picks.
The Adam Durrant stable is on fire at the moment and for that reason I’m happy to stick with his last winner (8) SUMMAH’S TOUCH. She was ridden like a moral at her last, sitting three wide the trip however she was still too good. She looks a promising staying type and will take some beating in this.
(9) MOREISH ran a fast finishing second to Summah’s Touch and then came out and blitzed her rivals at Bunbury. She looks the danger.
(4) NUNCA TE RINDAS has shown ability previously and he trialled nicely.
(2) STORM RAIDER looks a staying type and will enjoy the step up to a mile.
8. SUMMAH'S TOUCH - 4. NUNCA TE RINDAS - 2. STORM RAIDER
This looks a wide open race.
I’m going for the maiden (11) DEUS VAULT. He’s been a barrier rogue however he’s always shown some ability. He has had two recent trials and he went enormous in both. If he gets the gates OK and jumps well he has each way claims.
(4) FRIAR’S TIP has been well fancied in his last couple of starts however the pace of those races were against him. He looks well placed in this event
(6) SAXON KNIGHT didn’t get the best of luck first up. He’s a consistent type and has claims.
(7) HYDEN is a galloper with ability. W Pike on is a big engagement, expect an improved showing.
11. DEUS VULT - 4. FRIAR'S TIP - 6. SAXON KNIGHT
It’s hard to go past the (3) THE MILLIONAIRE in this three-year-old event. He was simply dominant first up at Pinjarra, clearing out in the straight to post a big win. He looks a very promising type and should dispose of this field.
(5) MR UTOPIA won nicely on debut at Mt Barker. He looks a promising type.
(4) COFFE’N’COGNAC found the line nicely in a strong race at Bunbury. He get back again but should be doing his best work late.
(8) BASE TRADE was asked for little in his trial and could be the value runner for the first four.
3. THE MILLIONAIRE - 5. MR UTOPIA - 4. COFFEE'N'COGNAC
This looks a wide open mares’ race.
I’ve settled on the Simon Miller trained (10) MOUNT MARION. I’m happy to put a line through her first up effort when she missed the start and found trouble in the straight. If she jumps well she should get a perfect run from barrier 1.
(9) RICHTIRAM LASS has been freshened up since her last start effort where she battled on solidy after doing some early work. She can win
(2) COUNTER OFFER resumes and if she’s up to the mark fitness wise she might just have a class edge on this field.
(4) LOUISIANA LADY brings in the best recent form however she’s a slight query at 1400m for me.
10. MOUNT MARION - 9. RICHTIRAM LASS - 2. COUNTER OFFER
I thought this was probably the trickiest race of the day.
Without any confidence I’m going for (6) ACCRUAL. I thought the first up behind Foxy Commander at Bunbury was more than solid and with natural improvement he should be more than competitive in this event.
(3) READY FOR SURE was advantaged how the track was playing first up however he was still an impressive winner. He should get a nice run from his draw.
(7) JESTIC is racing well and should be finding the line strongly.
(4) ELLAVAMOMENT has his hoof on the till and the step up to 1400m looks ideal.
6. ACCRUAL - 3. READY FOR SURE - 7. JESTIC
The feature race of the day and it has brought together a decent field of stayers with most on a Perth Cup mission.
The jury is out whether (6) FULL REIGN is a true stayer however I’ll still put him on top in this event as he looks very well weighted. He has been running through the lines at his last couple of wins and if he brings that same form he’s the one to beat.
(4) BRIDGESTONE hasn’t won a race for 2 and ½ years but he put the writing on the wall last start with a fast finishing effort.
(2) GLOBAL FLIRT is dead set flying. Only query is whether he’ll be ridden cold from his wide gate with the big race on New Year’s Day in mind.
(5) STARLIGHT LADY is flying and should hit the line strongly.
6. FULL REIGN - 4. BRIDGESTONE(NZ) - 2. GLOBAL FLIRT
This is a very good competitive sprint to finish the day. The speed should be on with the likes of My Rouge, Crown Of War, Pure Adrenalin, Torridale and Park Lane all noted speedsters.
(8) IDENTITY FRAUD is nice type who resumes from a spell. Last preparation he won first and second up and he has two trials to tune him up for his return. He should get a cosy run on the rail behind the speed and be strong late.
(6) PINNICI looks very well suited by the drop in grade, distance and the expected tempo on up front. He should be monstering the line late.
(9) MY BONNY LAD can run a race fresh.
(1) PLAIN LUCKY is limited but has each way claims
8. IDENTITY FRAUD - 6. PININCI - 9. MY BONNY LAD
R1: 1,2,6 boxed exacta.
R2: 8 is heavy fave but I'll give 6 'Fancy Feet' an each way chance.
R3: 8 'Pegamystic' EW.
R4: 3,4,5,10,12 boxed quartet, hoping 3 does not win as heavy fave.
R5: hugely wide open, 2 EW for me but won't be wading in too heavy.
R6: no bet.
R7: 2 'Global Flirt' wins.
R8: 2 'My Rouge' EW.

Leg 1: 2,3,4,9,10
Leg 2: 3,4,13
Leg 3: 1,2,5
Leg 4: 1,2,8,10,11
Best LAY of the day: R7 'Full Reign' will run as fave probably and is certainly in great form but has only ever run 2200m once and came 8th of 14. Not for me.
Good luck how you see it! :-\"

May you have the winning tickets
Time and time again, you think a horse is at the crossroads, NDP gets em back.
Yours, hacked off,
