I'd be giving Hill the flick whilst he still has some creditability as well.

Downhill skier in the mould of Aaron Davy.

Yep. Someone will probably be dumb enough to offer a top 6 draft pick.
    Richmond perhaps? :P

Called hill a downhill skier last year and got ridiculed. Need to keep but is the cherry on top type player so if club going good then he will hurt teams, but if team not up to it then he is invisible.

As I have said free need some key forwards and backs. The drafting over the past few years has been very short sighted as I stated in another post re: the drafting or lack thereof of quality young talls.

Mayne and balls tyne have got no chance without talls structured up fwd. Harvey not playing pav fwd this year despite their limited midfield was an epic fail.

You ever thought of coaching you have all the answers but i do agree with you re Pav needed to play fwd but due to no Barlow,Mundy,Morabito he had to play on the ball

Half time game over thinking what Freo needs to become competitive again firstly new coaching assistants Dean Bailey could be of help Harvs definitely needs some help.
Players Mitch Clarke not sure about this bloke could struggle at Freo would steer clear. Leon Davis why not? fast and skilful not something we have alot of if he was to come cheap definitely. Josh Hill also would be a great pick up if we got him cheap has played alot better footy than many on the list.
Think we should trade any of Griffin, Palmer,Hill maybe to get Omeara the competition seems to be getting built around elite players with hard working assistants eg Carlton so need to try and get top ten picks onto the list.

Look take out the stragglers (Hinkley, Palmer, McPhee, Van Berlo, Schammer), and give the entire squad a decent injury-free pre-season so they're not forced to play games at half rat-power, and they'll be in the mix.

Anyone thats played any footy can recognise that, and knows that the last two results are not an accurate reflection on their list as a whole.

The futuristic problem is that their current rookie-listed players are flat out holding their spots at WAFL level, and many would have been dropped to the Ressies if certain people had their way.

The top 25 of this squad is decent, don't worry.
Develop or trade for some better rookies, get in a speedy mid and an extra tall, and pray like hell for no injuries, and 2012 will see them back in the mix.

Hope you blokes are right but not sure it is that simple their game plan looks to be miles of the top teams and up and coming sides.
Will say if Pavlich doesnt play forward and kick alot of goals say 60 plus doubt they will make the eight need more firepower and run.
Morabito may provide some but alot of blokes have struggled the year after a knee reco and he wasnt exactly dominating anyway.

Wasnt it Morbitos first year ???
How well was the WCE game plan last year it just shows game plans aint that hard to change and tweak with the right blokes on the park to much made of game plans get the fit cattle park and a full list and its all sweet

23 players on the injured list this week:
    http://www.fremantlefc.com.au/injury list/tabid/8737/default.aspx
Can also add Bucovaz who will be out suspended, could be a rookie or two getting elevated this week, and only 3 of them available....
Oh well, a loss should elevate us a position or two in the draft :P

Fev at full forward frees up Pav 8)

    Hayden retires... :(
Only played 128 games but was an absolute jet.
Reliable, precise and could find space in a matchbox.
Dr Roger will be missed :abeer:

If you look at the Freo WAFL performances compared to the Eagles this year you can see there are a number of players at Freo nowhere near up to AFL standard at present. Now whether that is a quality thing or a development thing I am not sure, probably a mix of both.

Where are they going to find some quality key position players? Let me guess...mature age pool? The draft this year is pretty weak on talls but they seriously need to start looking at some with their early draft picks. Kersten, Mcinness or Lockyer, all WA boys should get a look in you would think.

In 2-3 years time I reckon Freo going to be back in struggle town.

Im tipping your mob will be heading to struggle town in about 3 weeks

But Occy what makes your list better seeing your better players this year have been ,Coxy,Kerr,Glass ALL AUST ,Lynch had a great year,Embers brilliant year they are all gone with in 2 years im tipping so your list could fall away seeing the mail on Gaff is 10s on to go home a few injuries and you will finish were you did last year or maybe a few spots higher

Luckily it's only you making the tip and not somebody who actually knows something...

We still have a young spine coming through for which to build a team on unlike your mob who have no spine, literally and on field.

Gaff isn't going anywhere, history suggests we very rarely lose players. Gaff is an Oakleigh Chargers boy like Shuey and has been taken under his wing. Will make a formidable duo for the next 10 years...

We still need to trade for or develop at least one more A grade mid. Would be nice if Swift or Masten stepped up sometime in the next 20 years...

History ?? History ?? History shows buddy that you lost the greatest player of the modern era who is soon to be triple brownlow winner remember him C Judd so you no what you can do with your history

I knew you would bring *he I no longer speak of* up but like I said "rarely lose" players. Him leaving was probably a blessing in disguise, our team was quickly being superseded by Geelongs and with Cousins going we weren't going to win another premiership with that list.

We have been able to get a worthwhile trade in return for him in an elite key forward in JK and him leaving meant we hit rock bottom and enabled us to get key picks to rebuild 'properly'.

As I said last year, we know what we are doing, and like I have always said, your mob has no farkin idea.

Never said it was an even swap, try reading my post a few more times.

Then take about 3 hours to digest the information in your little brain, and then respond when you think you have something worthwhile to add.

If we had kept Judd we may still be lingering mid table like North, not receiving a host of good picks from which to rebuild a team capable of winning a premiership.

Just like Freo, you can't grasp the bigger picture.

$2.1m over 4 years for Palmer!
And being only 22, and a former first round pick, that's got to be worth and end of 1st round pick as compensation at worst :D

Now just need to secure an early pick for Hill
