Ascot Guineas noms at least make for an interesting rematch for the fillies this saturday..will see the final field later but most of the players from last start should back up.

One horse im very interested to see resume is CLASSY NUGGET :D
nommed for the open sprint i hope he starts,1100 might be a touch short but he was flying last season at belmont....

and of course Henry the Pharoah...drawn a good gate this time, back to 1100..needs to be ridden in a more forward position yes occy? hope he is given every chance..steve parnham should be on id assume this start.Good Luck with him

And should just win that even with the big weight.
How many runnings has that race had? Good horses seem to win it, El Pres and Hifeloutin (spelling?) i know of has there been a third?

    Edit: Maybe not.

    Danebeela Earns A Break

Champion Fillies Stakes winner Danebeela has been sent for a spell by her trainer John Price, after showing signs at track work that she was nearing the end of this current preparation.

The winner of five from six starts, with an unlucky second to the imposing Hay List at her only defeat, Danebeela was set to start in the 1000 Guineas (1800 metres) at Ascot on Saturday or go to the Patrons Plate (1400 metres) at Bunbury on Tuesday.

“She just started to show us at track work that she was coming to the end of it.” Price told perthracing.com.au “She wanted to kick out at track work on Thursday morning and there have been a few other pointers to suggest that we should pull the plug on this campaign.”

“She will go back to Dick Vincent’s farm for six weeks and then we will take our time with her and look at some of the major races over the summer. The mare’s races during that period would be an option as well.”
”When you look at it, she should be unbeaten. She could have beaten Hay List that day which would have meant six from six.”

“In the fullness of time we will look back and probably say that her pet distance is somewhere between 1200 and 1400 metres and there are many good races in that distance range.”

Price will only start Coronate at Ascot on Saturday and concedes that the wide draw will make it difficult for his Verglas gelding again.

“He seems to be a horse that needs to draw in, to show his best. But the little fellow is working well and deserves to take his chance.”

Price has recently sold his Ascot property and will concentrate on developing his Orange Grove complex.

“I have cut the number of runners in my stable from 20 back to 12 while we are in the middle of developing Orange Grove.”

“This is a wonderful place to train horses, Arctic Park and others have all done extra well out here.”

Wonder if Innovation will back up, accepted for the race and looks only an average race on paper, so why not I guess!

So are you saying that he has poor placement and his stats would be improved if he gave it some thought ?

No ..what he's saying is he derives a perverse pleasure out of biting the hand that feeds..

I hope you guys are aware that Innovation has been sold and had a stable change and is not with Neville Parnham any longer.

Didn't know that the horse had changed hands, but thought it was another episode of bagging Neville.

No market for the 1000 guineas. Every other race in australia is being bet on......

Bit of speed in the open sprint,i give Classy Nugget a chance to run over the top of them!
  • BroomeCup4EverBroomeCup4Ever    341 posts
I think Classy Nugget is a risk. Despite it winning 8 out of 16 starts last prep, and it being very good to my wallet, especially the day it beat Amici,it still has to come back, as good as it was. More times than not they don't come back as well.
  • MightAndPowerMightAndPower    4,148 posts
Certainly is a risk BCE  and wouldnt be taking short odds..however..

I reckon OTC,FA and Lachino will be the speed and a hot speed at that..innovation isnt as good as Nugget but is much fitter..they will be the two running on imo.
