I think a lot of people will be interested come Sunday - for the first time ever I checked the Sunday noms before the Ascot ones.

10 races - will be a big punting day for sure.

Goodluck to slacka going for his 4th Geraldton Cup

Forecast is currently for 43 degrees.
If so, expect a lot of scratchings.
Long way out yet. The two days either side are only forecast 33 and 32, so if the weather pattern shifts just one day, as it often does over that time, it should be ok.

Batavia sprints looks like a great race.Universal Ruler looks hard to beat.

I'll give you the tip of the year - he won't be there if it's 43 degrees !
  • DarrahDarrah    2,933 posts
They are tipping 34 Tivers - are you going ?
  • TiversTivers    7,720 posts
Got a couple accepted, so if it is only 34 (not 43) and both start...........I may well do so.

Unfortunately our new horse ,That Mann Leo,has been scratched, trainer says he is not quite ready. Will be in meeting after. We will still be going though, like getting bashed around by drunk people.

Was there last year, packed out and they had a few issues with the power, causing me to miss most of my horses race. Still a good day out though, few improvements to the course this year too

one wouldn't think so if go be that hot!!!! did realise that would be the go.I wouldn't want my horse to race in that kind of temp.
is only forcast to be around 34

This quaddie is going to be a bugger to pick! A 0-62 & and a 0-67 to finish it off! will pay a decent div if one were to get it.

Geraldton cup is a very even race with probably 7 reasonable chances, not sure whom I'll back yet but leaning to Observation at the moment.
Weather forecast is for 33degrees mostly sunny which isnt to bad.
One thing you can be sure of,it will be blowing its guts out by mid afternoon.

Universal Ruler my pick for the sprint .

Tivers if your horse is right - it will be a gap job surely. He's grades and grades and grades above them.

he is right, well he was last start. Trainer declared him 100 % fit and well. in my book he is far from right, if he was right he would have been racing at Ascot. At 75 % he wins Geraldton with his head on his chest. Could be a long drive home

  • dungydungy    9,278 posts
Well thats positive RUBBISH again from Piston ,the trainer declared him 100% fit and his feet were a 100% but was never in the hunt over 1000m ,he wins today simple as that
  • BlakeBlake    8,176 posts
no gero fields in sydney herald on their biggest day of year. not happy
  • TheDivaTheDiva    13,248 posts
I voted for Le Bon Jeune - surprised how many other people also had - might be onto a good bet :D

dungy is english ur 2nd language, I said the trainer declared him 100% (when its obvious he isnt)
I also said if he is 75% fit n well he wins easy, I dont believe he is fit n well. If he is he bolts in. Great value today

Universal Ruler runs last and was GONE a long way from home!!
    Something wrong there?
  • NFI you Dungy, simple as that

hung from the word go and was on 1 rein the entire race. Makes you wonder when a trainer keeps saying he is 100% fit n well and its obvious he isnt. Like I said "a long drive home"
