I have now heard from a couple of trainers that the belmont surface is rooted (pardon the pun). wondering if this is the reason for the small fields?

Thankfully it is nearing the end for another winter.
Anyone got suggestions on a better way of doing things, to keep Belmont from being so hammered well before the end of its season every year?

It is what it is. You cant grow grass when it cant grow. Midweek racing should be once a fortnight, move that one meeting to Pinj or Bunbury. Still have city money for it though.
