Weather could be a problem. Nice horse and should just win Brady

No stewards report up from yesterday, think the interference to Lucy causing some consternation.

Forecast for 39C on Saturday, how does the heat policy work here ? First to move the meeting back to a later start ? I felt they started thinking about this when the forecast temp was 39.

and 41 forecast at the airport.

hear what your saying Meatpie but that airport reading is always higher due to large open area with a lot of concrete ie the runways. usaully a couple degrees less around Ascot. But even 39 is stifling

remember the cup wins of crying game, time frame and scores of others...+40 in the mounting yard and the show went on. no problems to horse or riders for the whole card. no texan mists, we are now weak as p*ss.

We're moving with the times, sometimes it's not for the better but on this occasion and for this reason the horse/jockey safety is always paramount

Some talk about moving the meeting away from the city

The fact there is no betting up at this stage suggests they are currently having Champagne and Prawns and trying to work out what to do

losing prime meetings when Bunbury is up and running doesn't make sense at this time of the year

Bunbury forecast for Saturday not a lot better - 38. Pinjarra 41.

Could move it to Albany and have a double meeting :) Saturday forecast 22 with a shower or two.

I believe that is an option they are still looking at, when I said called OFF I should have said they will NOT be at Ascot

Would be a good use of the upgrade at Bunbury to permanently give them a number of Summer meetings on Saturdays. The welfare of the horse should be in forward planning rather than the financial returns of the metro based club.

Weather is weird, forecast in Geraldton (racing) is 32

Bunbury is reestablishing a new grass surface. we all remember what happened to Eagle Farm when they rushed back.
no doubt the invest of $23 million is in part for that reason, to be a backstop.

No mention of Pow rolling and taking JJ’s run.

Would you travel your horse nearly 3 hours in the heat just to watch it go around????
Yes it’s a prime track and we all love racing there, but commonsense prevails!
My horse was a favourite for Sat, but would never have travelled it to Bunbury in the heat!

Was mentioned, but Stewards must have deemed was not an influence when most probably had to ease when Poys horse rolled, not attempt to drive through. Tough gig I know, but cannot be putting another rider into the fence

For the few that remain in the Ascot precinct and those in The Swan Valley, it is a hike. However, the majority of the Industry is now located in the Southern corridor and Bunbury is less than 1.5 hours for most.
