No interest at all from forum members.

I had no financial interest myself but on observation if I wanted to watch a leader bias track as today I could have watched the leaders or near enough winning at Gloucester Park.

Marochinno had never won at 1400. I will have what it is having.

    I have to say Slip Ascot has really failed to grab me so far. Usually i love the return but it just feels like it has failed to hit any heights at all, at least on the track.

    Might help if they prepare the track like they do over east... keep a little bit of length on the grass and water it, so it is a true good 4.
    The times they're running here are a true indication that they are running on a Good 3, regardless of the weather conditions

    The racing may not have hit any great heights as you can throw the form guide out the window but off the track I reckon it has been really good. Good crowds. Irish day and opening day were excellent I thought. And we have the big races coming up so looking forward to those.

    Ascot is a shocking track. Everyone cannot wait to get back there but you leave at track (Belmont) which is so much fairer to the punter.
    Ascot races according to conditions so often. That isn't to say Belmont doesn't but Ascot can be so unfair and if the grass is too short on a hot day well it will be completely leader dominated. Some of the results on Saturday indicate this.
    The other aspect with Ascot is the total lack of camber on the corner. It was poorly designed.
    Great to be back at Ascot for the atmosphere, the girls and the great weather but the track is ordinary by design.

    @JimmyPop might have eluded to it but I'll ask what may seem an ignorant or stupid question.

    What creates leader bias? Surely it's a track design issue. In saying that, does a faux leader bias idea play a role in how jocks run their races. Rock hard fit animals should be put directly up on the speed in the firing line and just grind their opponents into the ground if there was true leader bias AND the jock knew the horses fitness/engine. Is everyone too scared to take the leader on hence no pressure and then it gives the impression of a leader bias track because the animal in front has spent no fuel? I don't know but happy to hear the reasons.

    In my opinion the  most telling factors in leader bias at Ascot are wind speed and direction and now  hard the track is.

    I think if you ask a jockey, They prefer the layout of belmont (  before Some Knob jockey that   sold the best bits)
    But Ascot is a far better vibe.

    Better track overall, longer straight etc means Belmont is better racing track.The facilities etc fit the "in" Crowd at Ascot..the track is not as fair to all runners when their both in good nick.

    I reckon its hard to be that interested in here when the Spring carnival is at its peak over east.

    PS wtf happened with Super Smink did it get a flat or is the winner just better?

    Surprised no comments from Owners or whoever represents them these days, that most of the races today were run for circa $35,000. That's not much of a return for the investment when showcasing to the next generation of owners there for Melbourne Cup Day.

    It has always been a midweek meeting with the one feature race,

    Apart from Melbourne and Sydney all meetings today were "midweek" standard and stakes.

    I think she might be a far better horse ridden off the pace. The barrier today possibly forced Chris Parnham to think he needed to ride her forward.

    That race has historically been a graveyard for favs. I could be wrong but every year it seems a shortie gets rolled but then goes on to bigger and better things. This is based on no research, just perception haha

    Today is all about the Cup, apart from Vlandy's and NSW Flogs, who think and want to take away from the cup. Everyone else fully accepts that today is about getting people on track and enjoying the day.  
    Hats of I say to WA racing. We had 3 tracks running today 800kms apart. From Bunbury to Gero
    Why would we load up on prizemoney for a non-event day for WA racing. When our carnival virtually starts this Saturday and runs for the next 7 weeks. 

    Jump on board mate and start posting some positivity. 
    Otherwise catch you in another 8 weeks for your postmortem on how bad our carnival was.

    Ever owned a horse ? They are incredibly expensive to either breed or purchase (did you see what they cost this year in Perth at the Yearling Sale ?) then to maintain and give them a chance to win races that takes an even bigger pile of cash.

    So you see my comments as biased ? You think $30-35,000 is acceptable for a major City meeting ?

    Sydney ran for $100,000 more in the ordinary lead up races, they play second fiddle to Melbourne all day on Cup Day.

    I think you are just too sensitive to confronting criticism and because it came from me, in light of my past history with calling out the hypocrisy of the WATC who contribute virtually nothing to stakesmoney but want it all covered by RWWA at the expense of every other Club in the State. For 15 years they have promised the World and delivered an atlas.   

    Rivers of money from a development that has sunk the Industry for a decade and with at least 20 years of grief to come. 

    Back in 2010 the races on the Cup Day card paid the following: 

    R1 $50,000 R2 $40,000 R3 $50,000 R4 $80,000 R5 $40,000 R6 $80,000 R7 $125,000 R8 $50,000  given that the Asian Beau is now run on another day, even so it was a race card.

    Yesterday was a **** take.

    He has his opinion and that is what this site is for, my only comment on his post is he says "a major city meeting" and that is NOT correct, it's a glorified MIDWEEK with a LISTED race for 3YO fillies.     Yes Damien. I do own racehorses, Had four 3 months ago and I'm down to 1 now that we leased one out on Monday.
    Its pretty bloody simple in my opinion. DONT NOMINATE FOR THE DAY. if you're not happy with the prize money.
    The turf club fixtured in a maiden 2 x class 1s and 2 x class 3s. You are dreaming if you think the turf club should throw in an extra $$$ for that class of races. 

    We are at the beginning of our carnival this weekend with 2 listed and a group 2 and those races have only 13 horses in them. We simply do not have the cattle to be running $80k to $100k races Saturday, Tuesday and Saturday again.

    Well there you go, it was the Saturday before. The Burgess Queen was moved some years later to prop up the embarrassment that became their Melbourne Cup meeting of B Grade horses going around in front of drunks chasing skirts.

    I should have remembered circa 2010, it was when those promises of gold lined towers would forever provide rivers of money to fund stakes at Ascot and Belmont for years to come. I was looking forward to the promise of a squash court and gym at the state of the art grandstand at Belmont as well. 

    All is forgiven, Perth Racing can rightfully sit at the head of the table again in the show they put on.

    * Yes I do hate Perth Racing, they have destroyed the Industry going forward for decades to come. Nobody has ever been held accountable nor ever will. I hate what those few have done.

    Damien I don’t know you but you obviously have a set against all things Perth racing. I think a better scenario here would have been for you to take ownership of your post and the fact that it was not correct. I think a yes I have posted figures that didn’t correlate to the correct meeting would have said a lot more about your character than another attack on Perth racing when being found out. At the end of the day we all make mistakes
