Bryan Guy has a couple of first starters up at the Sunshine Coast on the bog track today. Both fields are very weak and I think they’re both good plays especially the one in race 3.

    Race 1 Mandeville Rocker $8
Race 3 Chant Nay Never $3.90

Expect Chant to start much shorter.

By A McNeil is on song too, R7 at Bendigo looks a likely winner for him-Captain Harry.

Like one today at Kilcoy of all places.

    Race 5 Tequila Boom $7.50

The price is just silly. Yes the horse isn’t a world beater but she’s priced on what she produces on dry tracks which is basically nothing. Obviously being by spirit of boom she’s partial to the wet and her runs on inferior ground prove that. Her run at Toowoomba first up was great and just ran out of condition the last 50m. She’s struck a heavy 8 , a weak race and gets the services of leading jockey Bailey Nothdurft.

She’s a decent play but not a special by any means.

    Hawkesbury Tuesday

    Race one McGeehan $7

First starter from the Paul Cave yard who has looked really strong in his 2 trials. He’s a 3yo gelding who they’ve taken their time with. Race isn’t overly strong and the man of the moment Tommy Berry is on board. I would have backed him in a Wednesday metro meeting so to get $7 at Hawkesbury is a bonus.

Opened $9 and I doubt he will be $7 when they jump. In fact I know he won’t.

Bartholomeu Dias has his 2nd Australian run tomorrow at Sandown R5.Should handle the sticky ground, I'm expecting pilot Willo to bide his time and launch upon straightening.

    Sandown Wednesday

    Race 6 Meteor Light $8.50

Three runs back from a spell and he’s primed to put his best foot forward today. He meets similar opposition to what he did last start but the difference is he has a stack of improvement and the 2 that finished in front of him were already six runs in to their respective campaigns. The barrier is a little tricky but their should be a bit of pace early to allow Poy to slot in.

He is a goodun @H, franked his debut run at Caulfield..it was pretty painfree watching and the drift to 3.40 was appreciated.

    Kembla Grange Thursday.

    Race 8 Ruthless Agent $7

He’s found the perfect race here and this horse will appreciate the long Kembla track with the sting out. Hasn’t won in a while but is a very consistent gelding who’s a regular to Wednesday Metro racing in Sydney. After the claim for Cejay Graham gets in very well at the weights against a moderate lot.

Plunge horse 100s into 4.60 scratched by Stewards.

Story on Racing.com about this maiden galloper Willygood which has been plunged since betting opened, then scratched on race morning.

Trainer not well known to me bloke by the name of Cliff Murray.

Interesting if there are no abnormalities come to light(other than a betting plunge)...
  • ThunderstruckThunderstruck    7,696 posts
Apparently the horse was not stabled at his licenced training property so was fined $750 and horse scratched...does have form for one that won at 150s about three years ago at Sale.

Quote from Sportsbet re the plunge :
"one of the biggest goes they have seen in a while, attracted several HUNDRED DOLLAR bets(they opened up a pissy $61)and continued to be backed as they wound it in..LOL grow a set fellas you clear many millions in profit!

These allegedly "big" corporates are pretty soft yeh or am I being harsh...?

    From the article

"She's had half a dozen trials....seems to be going alright. But that's about it" Murray said.

"I would say its just local people who have seen her at the jump outs"

Yeah, cool story bro :^o :-j

R2 Doomben, Cellar Maid should frank the Vanna Girl form up 200m odd in trip looks suitable.

Caulfield on a possibly tricky day,
R3 Arctic Wolf with the blinkers going on might race a bit handier to negate the inside gate problem..hopefully the 2 races prior won't chop up the track too much.
Looks a good ew bet at $8+ and i'll load up the place to ensure a decent profit if he runs at least the drum.

That great man Ollie lifts one over the line in the opening race!

Speaking of the man, mine was a quiet arvo yesterday so I watched the re run of The Cup...

Thanks mate, likely some scratchings to come then..no bets for me.

*managed to substitute all the runners needing replacements..surprisingly.

Do like one in the last lol but was more appealing as an ew bet when it was paying 3 divvys..11.Delicately, Kathy Ohara goes on which is ok.

They're all clear. I understand the caution but this is NSW, not VIC :-@
