Before last week - WCE hadn't beaten Mel for the year, and Coll hadn't beaten Rich for the Year.

So on that basis, as Coll hasn't beaten WCE all year - Coll wins.

^^ That's a good one. True story 1990 - morning of the Grand Final between Collingwood and Essendon. Was undecided how to bet. Went outside for the morning newspaper - and what was peering back - hadn't seen one for ages - a magpie. Decision made.

Went up and hit the Pies hard 1-45 points on footo. They won by 48 points - never forgiven that maggie.

My desire for the Eagles to win is two fold. Firstly, I love the Eagles and secondly I want to see how long Skids goes missing for after shooting his mouth off on the previous two occasions we have beaten them this year.

The more I think about this game the more confident I am.
Eagles have too much class across all lines for Collingwood to handle.
Collingwood are put together with so many players from other clubs and countries that it won't work for them.
Buckley hands are tied with sticking with ex Docker Chris Mayne. Not sure he will stand up on the big stage.
Travis Varcoe ex Geelong not a bloke I would go in the trenches with.
SoftCox won't be able to handle the heat of a grand final.
Jeremy Howe ex Melbourne likes to take a speccy rather than defend.
Adam Treloar ex GWS won't regain fitness that he lost mid season.
Steele Sidebottom will be manned up this week instead of being ignored by the arrogant Tigers.
Taylor Adams ex GWS. No skill just huff and puff.
Levi Greenwood ex North Melbourne. Can't kick over a jam tin. No skill.
I could go on but I am tired.

no way next year for collingwood. today was their go, and they fluffed it.

wce were the more skilled team, collingwood better bullockers.

skill ended up trumps.

hopefully wce fall in a hole next year.

I must admit to being a lurker in the sports section for a while. I am a WCE supporter but if you offered me a fine bottle of Whisky or WCE winning I’d take the Whisky.

I’ve come from an era of the winning 1992 & 1994 granted in was 6&8 but I remember it. What a great game and commiserations to Collingwood. A cracker game \m/

^:)^ well done to WC dug themselves out of an early hole to get up in a nailbiter. Gracious in defeat Skids, but then brady goes and ruins it by being a "ass hat"

what a grand final! What let it down was the one sided commentary. I thought bruce and BT were way over the top especially commenting on de goey and Cox. Eagles do something good and they comment on it like its an inconveinience. Very poor.

Great game of footy. Proud of the boys.
Commiserations Skids and Hendo. You should be proud of your boys too. They gave it everything.
Well done in being gracious in defeat
Takes two to Tango and or two teams to make a great game.
I personally will enjoy the week reviewing the game and then it is on to the off season meat market.
Which player will go where etc.
Reckon Gaff and Lycett are gone. Hoping Tim Kelly finds his way to West Coast.

I actually feel sorry for Collingwood and this is coming from a WCE supporter... fancy blowing a 5 goal lead in a GF albeit in the first qtr

as carey mentioned, that was their window and they fluffed it..

west coast can and will only improve providing we stay injury free it's scary to think how dominant they could be in years to come and like we owned Subi and were near on unbeatable in our prime I can see the same thing happening at Optus in the next few seasons

Our win this year was against the odds. Pies taking care of Richmond in the prelim did us a massive favour I reckon.
Those thinking about getting early flights next year, accomodation, etc in anticipation of the Eagles being there again next year may have to cool the jets.
Richmond will be hard to toss, pies will have unfinished business, dees have a lot of upside etc etc.
Hard to keep the spirit alive for extended periods.
Sam Mitchell leaving will be a massive loss in my opinion.
