    It's fairly obvious, actually. Federer showed in his finals losses to Nadal that his attention seeking crying in defeat was not a habit he'd left behind in his youth. It only took Nadal to expose him for what he really is. If he wasn't winning he'd be crying. His demeanour is an effect of winning not its cause. 

    Judging Bernard because he's petulant in defeat is all too easy, and the Australian tennis public-yes the same one that heckled Jelena Dokic on court until she cried-as well of the media, go far harder on our stars than the Swiss ever would. Warwinka would not be a three-time Grand Slam champ if he was an Aussie, not the way we tear them down if they don't win.

    How many of the IJC races did Joao win at Happy Valley this year? How many of the 4 International races at Sha Tin? You were there on both days, I'm sure you remember? You may also recall he jumped off Mr Stunning in favour of Thewizardofoz before the start of its prep AND he got off Time Warp too. Mr Stunning(Nash) and Time Warp(Zac) both won Group 1s.

    I'd want Zac riding them here, so that goes without saying-but then Joao is approaching the one year anniversary of his last win here. Some 40 rides i believe, give or take. But let's not talk numbers.

    Nadal has $94mil and plenty of time to catch Fed if that's what he wants. Zac is not poor by any stretch. I don't think money means anything to those that actually earn it once they reach a certain level.

    Would Zac take the premiership over being the highest prize money earner this season if he had to choose? Would Federer sacrifice earnings if it meant he'd have a winning record over Nadal inc at least one calendar year Grand Slam and undisputed claims to being the GOAT?

    hmmmm.... what's in the box and how big is the chocolate? If it's one of those big **** 3kg Dairy milk things, I'd be all over that!.... If the box was smooth with a nice aroma, I may be inclined to lean that way.

    Just saw Djokovic got bounced out of the tournament. Wow. To think he once owned the Aus open like Nadal does the French or Roger at Wimbledon.

    @PAUL I'm gonna say Dimitrov. I know the most likely scenario is a Fedal final but it's really time someone else started performing at the pointy end of majors. Grigor should make the semis and if he faces Rafa, who leads him 9-1 in h2h, he can beat him. They played a tight 5 set match here last year so he's in with a better shot than it says on paper.

    Tennys Sandgren, guess with a first name like that, he was born to play professional tennis. Have never heard of him till the Australian Open, beat Wawrinka R2, beat Thiem in the last round, now one win away from playing in a Grand Slam S/F.

    His name reminds me of an Indycar driver back in the mid '90s, named Racin Gardner. He raced in the Indy 500 once. Now works as a stunt driver.

    As usual they ALL choke just at different stages of the tournament :)) Cilic is the most reliable at maximising his potential but is a clear level below the top two guys.

    Two unseeded guys will now play a semi final..are there any more upsets i wonder? Feds might turn up the wick tomorrow, Berdych rarely troubles him but its time to deactivate cruise control and charge onwards to Slam no 20.

    Dimitrov may not be the last of the big names to fall. You really have to question how badly Grigor wants it. He's squandered another opportunity at a slam with aging champions blocking his path. It's not as easily explained away when you're #3 in the world. Krygios a definite top 10 player right now.

    Agree TRK comfortably a top 10 player maybe better.
    Nick(the new and improved mentally model)can consistently beat Thiem, Goffin Carreno Busta and co..and match Dimitrov too...and arguably has the most X factor game to roll Feds and Nadal.

    I Also reckon there may be one more big upset in the quarters...Can Cilic roll Nadal or Berdych beat Feds..

    @Thunderstruck I'm happy to back him at Wimbledon($15) and the US Open($21). Novak is fav for the US which is interesting. I'm not sure his problems are 100% injury related. He seems a mere mortal now.

    I thought most bookies changed the rules about retirements. You'd hope that was the case if you backed Cilic. Rafa notoriously limped to defeat against Ferrer at this tournament previously(2011, I believe), costing his backers their stake which would have been refunded if not for his sportsmanship
