Had national coverage for non Sky meeting.

Some of the "punters" comments suggest the PTT feedback is on the money.

Will Sarah be jumping on to defend the ride.

Hopefully mud doesn't stick to this up and comming apprentice because of the actions of markou. Kids been going alright out of the city. Hasnt markou been outed a few years ago for similar thing, rings a bell.

The jockey and trainer are repeat serial offenders that thumb their noses at the authorities(who allow them to get away with this s***) and treat the punting fraternity with contempt.
    Enough is enough I say.

    LATE REPORT

Stewards concluded the adjourned Inquiry into their concerns with Jockey R. Markou’s riding of KAORU SUE in the above race. Jockey R. Markou pleaded guilty to a charge under ARR.135(b) for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures throughout running when riding KAORU SUE and was subsequently suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 weeks to commence from midnight 11 November 2011 and to expire at midnight 30 December 2011.

Probably not a good idea for Jason Brown to comment (if its the jockey) but the theme of these threads is kick em hard in the guts

There was a genuine hot case this week and no doubt if the stewards had found it heads would have rolled but it seems to have gone un noticed.I don't intend to point the race out but all you know all far kwits are challenged to find the rort race.It has the 2 key ingredients of a rort .Betting drift and ride to match. That should make it easier
so instead of castigating Sarah Childs over nothing find the rort
Why don't you grow a set and name the race / horse / jockey in question.

There's a little bit more to that one. Rob pleaded guilty because he did try to ease the horse up as he felt it has a wobble out the barriers. Unfortunately it didn't look good. But he swore black and blue to the stewards and owner/trainer of the horse that something was amiss. And it was. The horse bled both nostrils the following week and retired from racing. Given away free to good home.

KAORU SUE Blocked from on straightening until leaving the 150m. Returned having bled from both nostrils during running. Trainer was advised that the mare would now suffer the disabilities of ARR.53A.

This is not a post to start the lynch mob at it again. Just a simple post to say that things are not as black and white as they assume.

I just had a look at Kaoru Sue. It was odds-on when unplaced beaten a length in the race where Markou was outed for 7 weeks.
Ten days later when it bled in the race, Renee Forrest was still able to navigate the horse into 2nd place despite a big bleed and having no luck in the straight.
A wobble out of the barriers? What would cause this? I can't think of anything including EIPH that could make a horse wobble out of the barriers yet still allow it to finish within a length and then 10 days later allow the horse to run 2nd.
Genuine question, as the inquiry was held on the 11/11/2011, the same day Kaoru Sue bled, was the inquiry before or after Kaoru Sue bled?

What happened to the trainer of Kaoru Sue, Robert Pettit? Was he the greatest trainer of all time? Have a look at his stats on CRIS. He only raced a horse 10 times in his career. They were between 2007-2011.  5 wins, 2 2nds and a 3rd.
He took over the training of Blessed Sue from David Harrison for 2 emphatic wins from 2 starts. The last winning the Autumn Sprint at Ascot by 3.25L in a staggering 1:08.29 with a young W.Pike aboard. She was then sold to Sean Buckley to race in Melbourne (trying to replicate Miss Andretti) with the Pettit's retaining a share. Away from the Pettit training regime, Blessed Sue flopped.
The day Kaoru Sue bled was the last time Pettit took one to the races. What happened to him?

Morning of that race. So just a few hours before.
Having ridden a horse myself that has collapsed and died from a severe bleeding attack/heart attack, that wobble is a worry to any rider.
Until you have ridden in such situation you wouldn't understand.

    When is this finalised?

The stewards in Geraldton are at one of those forks in the road we all need to deal with, very interesting.

There hasnt been a controlling steward based in Geraldton since the 50's.

The same panel of stewards that control Ascot, Belmont, Bunbury, Pinjarra, Northam, Kalgoorlie, Albany and Broome etc control Geraldton so cant see how they have own rules.
