Disposition $4 into $2.80 just this morning!!

obvious Pike factor but at that price those odds are absolute poison, no doubt you'll get better on the tote anyway as they will surely back a few of the locals in

There was some 6s yesterday I was told, and some large bets went on at 5s.

First start for  the Durrant stable, who have been known to improve a horse or two a couple of lengths.

Couldn't see how Durrant can improve them

I don't think Lucy has anything to worry about given the money was on her mount and the fact that she wasn't hunting it along it looked like the horse was running along under it's own steam. I wasn't on it as it burnt me last week but if I was I would have liked her to pull the stick earlier but it would have made no difference to the result as the horse did not respond at all.

I agree no case to answer $$$ was to big for her mount , they may ask why didnt you try and settle the horse and bring it back under you a tad more was a ride of an apprentice she just let the horse bolt and didnt try to settle it  , agree her ride in the following race was terrific well judged
Did not have a bet in this race and not accusing Lucy, but in the UK etc knowing a horse is going to lose makes it a great way to make money by laying it via betfair etc, easier than trying set up a coup and have some outsider blow the your plans astray.Try getting a bet to win on for $50,000 would be near impossible with the corporates, but if the horses price is $2.00 lay at $2.10 and take as much as you want no questions asked.

    No Surprises here

LATE REPORT Kalgoorlie Wednesday, 20 September 2017 - Race 2: EBM Insurance Brokers Maiden 1100m Stewards completed a betting analysis of wagering transactions following their review of the above race in relation to the horses MERVYN (L. Warwick) and TEMPLE MAN (P. Hall).  There was strong support for MERVYN, fluctuations were $2.15 to $1.55 Starting Price on the WA Official price.  TEMPLE MAN opened at $4 and drifted to $7 Starting Price on the WA Official price.  During this process, which included information being requested from corporate betting agencies including Betfair, no transactions were identified as being of concern to the Stewards with betting activities found to be within normal parameters.  After reviewing MERVYN’s previous performances and racing pattern Stewards were satisfied that the gelding’s normal racing pattern had not been different to the race in question.  Trainer Mr J. Warwick advised that he was of the opinion TEMPLE MAN had been working well leading into this race and that the gelding would race well in its first start in a race.  In relation to the run of MERVYN, the Trainer was of the opinion that it had pulled hard when leading and concurred with the comments of the rider that when possible the gelding is better suited being balanced and ridden in a hands and heels manner and only the whip being used sparingly.  Further, he added that MERVYN was under pressure approaching the 100m and failed to finish the race off and that he had not supported either runner.  Stewards were of the opinion that had Jockey Warwick ridden MERVYN more vigorously and with the whip in the early stages of the straight it would have not left her open to such questioning, however Stewards considered her explanation into the riding of the gelding to be reasonable under all of the circumstances and took the matter no further.

Who gives a f*** about the betting flucs or patterns, they're irrelevant. It just confirms that the punters in general were on for a stack and they left the money in the bag.

What's the difference if a jockey puts in a questionable ride on well supported $1.50 hotpot as opposed to a 20/1 outsider?? Nothing!

This just seems like a way of sweeping it under the carpet

Hash, refer to Yankees post above. Just as important to check who is laying a horse as well as who has punted on it.

Questionable rides on $1.5 pops always get looked at more closely than $20/1 pops as the likelihood that something suspicious has occurred is much more likely.

Well done to Stewards for investigating, should be done more often especially on beaten runners when the ride was questionable.

End of the day the punters can't get every plunge right, there will be times the money goes on and stays in the bag

I think looking at the money for mervyn isn't the smoke. Its the drift of the stable mate from 4 to 7 dollars. Anyway someone got some coin
