95mm of rain forecast in the next 48 hours, not that they've got it right so far....
If it comes, surely this meeting wont go ahead?

10-20mm forecast for tomorrow, and none of it heavy.
    Won't even wet the soil.

Step Right Up in the last being tried these days over distance and scored an alley for 1st time in a few runs. I tipped his last win and he has been running fairly of late since his last win. Nice one for the exotics at a price.

Ascot currently rated a heavy 8. Chief steward Brad Lewis says surface is mostly soft with some areas in heavy range.

Best play is Race 4 The Blue Nipper at good odds EW, also on an EW basis Race 7 Two Silver Trees can give you a run for your money

Having a go at the early quaddie, think it is wide open with plenty of chances

    1-2-4-5-6-7-8
    3-5-6-7-9-10-13
    1-2-5-6
    2-5-6-8-10-14

    $20 = 1.7%

    For what its worth

    Greg Hooper’s Preview

    RACE 1

SUMMER’S DREAM trialled well. She should settle right on the speed and be very competitive. IZ THAT RIGHT was solid on debut and the rise to 1200m should suit. THUNDERSTRUT resumes with the benefit of a nice trial win. TIME ON MY SIDE race handy and give a sight.

    Numbers – 9 – 5 – 6 – 7

Suggested Bet – SUMMER’S DREAM WIN

    RACE 2

CONICAL PEAK has looked good in trials. She should be primed for a first-up assault. FAIR NIKITA has drops back to a suitable trip and class. MOSSTIARA makes her local debut on the back of a strong trial win. CODE VIOLATION showed speed and fight first-up at Esperance.

    Numbers – 4 – 2 – 5 – 1

Suggested Bet – CONICAL PEAK AND FAIR NIKITA

    RACE 3

MELTING POINT showed plenty of ability in his first campaign. If he can produce anything like that type of form he beats these. NAZARETH led and gave a big sight at Bunbury last week. DIAMOND JOLSON will race right on the speed and has claims. OREGON BRONZE next best.

    Numbers – 5 – 6 –  12 –  10

Suggested Bet –  MELTING POINT WIN

    RACE 4

FRIARS ASSASSIN had no luck at Bunbury and his previous run was solid behind a couple of nice types. BARZINHO is in form and goes close again. THE BLUE NIPPER will appreciate the class drop. STORMY GRACE will get a soft run and finish strongly.

    Numbers –  9 – 2 – 1 – 6

Suggested Bet – FRIARS ASSASSIN AND BARZINHO

    RACE 5

Wide open race. DU PLESSIS will burn over from a wide draw and give them something to catch. KEEPER’S TALE was a solid maiden winner fortnight back. BARRY’S RABBIT has raced without luck his last start two starts. BALI KING PRAWN can improve sharply off a poor last start showing.

    Suggested – 6 – 10 – 8 -1

Suggested Bet –  DU PLESSIS AND KEEPER’S TALE

    RACE 6

GALAXY STAR resumes from a spell off the back off a strong trial effort. At her only start she stormed home producing a big win. PRIZE CATCH has ability and Harvey rides. WANTED DESIRE worked hard on the speed fresh and did a good job to battle on and finish in the placings. ALL SETTLED has place claims.

    Numbers – 6 – 3 – 10 – 2

Suggested Bet –  GALAXY STAR WIN

    SuperPick - Race 6 No. 6 Galaxy Star - Profit Plus – 25% (Win)

    RACE 7

GLIMMER GIRL was a very impressive first up winner. She can go on with that and make it back to back wins. STAR GLITTER broke a long drought last start. He might be able to go on with a job now. PUCKSHAPESHIFTER will park right on the speed and give a sight. BOURBON DYNASTY can beat many of these on class alone.

    Numbers – 10 – 2 – 5 – 1

Suggested Bet – GLIMMER GIRL AND STAR GLITTER

    RACE 8

REGAL ROUGE is bursting to win a race. She’ll just need a little bit of luck from a wide draw to go very close. GONZO’S GIRL is racing well and should get a soft run from a good draw. STRIKES TWICE will race right on the speed and whack away into the placings. BOZCADA has claims off his last start win.

    Numbers – 2 – 12 – 3 – 1

Suggested Bet – REGAL ROUGE WIN

    RACE 9

STRIKING STAR should just be ready at his third run back from a spell. Both his efforts this campaign have been full of merit. DR SYKES will appreciate the 1800m. FREMOND finds it hard to win but his last start effort was very good. BACHELORS PROSPECT has turned the corner this campaign.

    Numbers – 5 – 2 – 14 – 11

Suggested Bet – STRIKING STAR AND DR SYKES

    QUADDIE

    RACE 6 – 6

    RACE 7 – 1, 2, 5, 10

    RACE 8 – 1, 2, 3, 8, 12

    RACE 9 – 1, 2, 5, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14

Just the one for me, each way Du Plessis in R5. Should be able to go forward from the wide gate, has been racing well lately and scratched on Saturday for this.

Have a bit of time for race 7 # 2. Star Glitter...now that has struck a bit of form may go on with it. Think can test the favourite. Like on a 2 x 5 basis.

unlucky mate, the horse kept finding but the jockey just didn't have it in him to lift it quite enough... put Pike or Noske on it in the situation and no doubt it would have got the bob in
