I have enjoyed NBL this year, some good coverage on Fox, Finals series should be a ripper, Melbourne at their best are very good, but NZ capable of surprising them. And if Lisch can go off Illawarra will give Perth a scare.

Last night, Kevin Lisch was named the MVP and best defensive player for the season.
Should be a good finals series, Illawarra are statistically the best offensive side in the NBL, the Wildcats the best defensive side in the NBL.

Breakers got out to over $3 to just make the top four about 6 weeks ago after they lost several games in a row...now just one step from another final. Huge turnaround.

Can Perth Wildcats win 2-0 in this series?

At $3.25 to win that is value.

    Any thoughts?

^^ That's the same as $1.35 tonight into $2.40 Cats winning the second game at Illawarra. That equals $3.24. Don't think the Cats would start as long as $2.40 in game two ?
  • Breakers were always going to turn it around after the Wayne Carey incident at the club got sorted. Relationships almost cost them a season.

With Lisch now out and the Wildcats 5-0 against the Hawks this year, now no chance. Currently $1.64 on TABtouch.

NZ into the final with a 91-78 win over Melbourne. NZ trying to win their fifth title in six years.

Never underestimate Hawks at home, though back to Perth without Lisch very hard, but Wildcats are soft. NZ tough for whoever, but United wimped through finals, not good enough defence, showtime does not win you titles

At the awards dinner the league announced 2 'All-NBL fives' teams...that's the best 10 selected from the 8 teams...could not find a place in either team for Cedric Jackson. Blimey.

Wildcats hot faves at home, and Hawks have terrible record here, but will not right them off completely because Wildcats don't handle extreme pressure well. Looking forward to the game is it Saturday ?

What sort of salary is Nate Jawai on? Whatever it is, he should have given back his match fee on Sunday. He looked disinterested and performed as such.

    Back is f'd.
Should have left him in Perth rather than flying twice - for nothing as it turns out.

In the last 16 playoff deciders (game 3), 15 have been won by the home team. The away win was by Cairns Taipans against Townsville Crocs in 2011.

Hawks shooting horrendous tonight never in it after quarter 1

Wildcats defense kept the Hawks to just 52 shots at goal tonight (19 less than Sunday). Not going to win many games with so few attempts, especially when they also only shot at 38% from the field.

Makes the third Grand Final series between NZ Breakers & Perth Wildcats in the past five years (2011-12, 2012-13 & 2015-16).

2nd Final (Breakers v Wildcats) is live on FOX & GEM at 2.30pm WST.

    http://www.nbl.com.au/livestats/?matchid=269186&page=strip

In the 5 games played between the two teams this year, all 5 have been won by the home side. If that trend were to continue, the decider will be played at 2.30pm Sunday at Perth Arena.

    Go Wildcats! [-O<

But prefer they just win tonight and get it over with.

Missed opportunity tonight as I don't think NZ played that well, just that the Wildcats didn't make the most of their chances. Also a couple of timely offensive rebounds from missed foul shots in the last 90 seconds worked in the Breakers favour. Both teams shot poorly from the field, Breakers 39%, Wildcats 35%.

Breakers only hope was to get out in the lead by 10+ The home side with advantage always going to win this series with the brutal travel arrangements in such a small time frame NZ 3  7 hours flights in 5 days to Wildcats 2.  Know how you feel yourself after that much flying in a smalltime frame and then throw in 3 basketball games.  And the other fact, Wildcats far better team with depth

As soon as they recruited Jawai - I thought "by how far".
Piece of luck NZ knocking off MEL though.
