I was on It but to fair BB still would have won in its ear but yes Hawkes is not known for holding back on jock changes if they crucify one of his
That's the horse's pattern though-get back, get cover and run on late. The time1:09.24(last 600m 32.95) made the task almost impossible. In fairness to Dunn, he pulled Chautauqua out in plenty of time in the Darley Classic last spring and he still got nailed by Terravista. It was precisely this move that opened the gap that allowed Bowman to make the winning move. That's tough to take in a Group 1 race and he would know it, too. If they line up again in the T J Smith(weather permitting), I'd be betting Chautauqua beats Brazen Beau-the Randwick rise favours horses that need to be held up for a run.

Let's not understate the master ride by Jo on the winner did you see that low shot of him the last 100 m pure magic to watch BB would not have been beaten yesterday no matter Dunnes shocker winner too good
He(Brazen Beau) was the pick of the parade. The Lightning is typically THE form race for the Newmarket and so it proved yesterday. I backed Lankan Rupee and I'm cursing myself for not having a saver on BB. I had the betting slip filled out I just didn't press 'confirm' ~X( L-)
Yeah he looked a million bucks in the yard he's a good one
Bigger shock was Deep Field getting rolled thought he was a moral but too short to back yesterday
I backed Chautauqua in the Darley and I thought he had every chance that day so he had to step up and he surprised me yesterday. Terravista was trying to beat history and I rarely bet against that. LR was the class runner and they usually win the Newmarket.
If they travel it would be closer to home. There is no value (other than the freeloading for the owners) to taking a gelding to Ascot when there are a multitude of richer sprints elsewhere.
