Happy to take Real Charm on.

May have won by 7L, but in a time that was no quicker than the preceding race which was ran at a farcical slow pace.
Massive jump in grade here from a 60+ to a 78+
Couldn't agree more. If berry rates MRD at an even pace she should be far too good. $5.5 is big price.
U clear need someone to show u how to read times because with respect that statement is not correct.

That's enough of Reflectance for me. Send him back to sydney, i'll be waiting at the airport. To think they use a jockey like Berry and he gets snookered on the rails while the leader walks up front ~X(

Stewards report will mention her a fair bit Bondy. Very chequered passage from around the 500m onwards...

I would hate to have forked out the cash for Reflectance, flat winning a 72+ in WA that's racing tho I guess.

Reasonable day on the punt, would have been a lot better if the damn 2yo had run a bit straighter.

Benito, Real Charm, and Moriarty all for the win. Missed out with Slik Act, Tonto, Cuanzo and didn't have a bet on Real Love or the race, and gave Magnifisio's race a wide berth as well.

haven't looked at the film, but she appeared to be bumped, pushed and i wouldn't be surprised if she got trod on. by whatever was in her inside....at first glance looked pretty ordinary

As soon as that one pushed its way out, she was gone...one or two taps with the whip and then basically rolled to the line...

May be nothing to do with that, but it did go wrong coming onto the first part of the bend.

What a great ride top class jockeys make the diffference amazing ride.

I haven't seen the replay yet but look at the 600m pic on CRIS website, Whyte had the winner parked right on Disposition's back. That was the winning move right there. Credit where credit is due. =D>

I thought Disposition was holding Moriarty before Pike resorts to hands and heels. The last 600m replay is up on the PR website now. I still don't know how he lost that race from the position he was in with 150m to go. 1600m might be as far as he wants it going forward.

Pike, Whyte, Berry, Melham all outstanding today. This has been a carnival so far for some brilliant rides and top shelf trainers having their horses peaking at the right time. Big effort by Waller to bring Moriarty through the spring and win a Group 1 here. Whyte coming to ride was icing on the cake. Tom Berry blimey he's a good hoop. Great days racing.

Disposition getting rolled was a $4k difference(for the worse) to me, the odds on pop in the 6th race in Toowoomba putting its nose down right on the line after being headed was the final kick in the guts.

Does anyone else think Pikey pushed Dispositions head down to far on the line? or was the horse just stretching out

fair point Tom, but if hr let it lift on the prior step he probably would've got beaten by a head on that last bound...great display of pressure riding by two very good jocks

congrats to all those who declared moriarty...well done... =D>
I was in the TAB around 12.20..just before the 1st at ascot and my mate behind the counter said "want 7's moriarty" as he glanced at a screen. appears it was available...
great to see those 2 fine jocks fight the KT out...both were virtually laying over the horses neck...
no wonder whyte has won about 14 HK titles....

No I didn't say a word to anyone except a couple of friends in person. The filly was disappointing.

He had a guy in there following me who owned one of the trotters in the main race at GP last night, They told me the name of the thing but I can;t remember it. had a fracture last year and now has three pins in its leg. Sounded like a remarkable story of recovery.

Anyone know if it went alright ?

Damien, weren't you barred from entering metropolitan racetracks.
  • RIORIO    14,902 posts
welcome aboard Ben...i think Damo was banned from taking photos on metro tracks..not from entering them

Damien, weren't you barred from entering metropolitan racetracks.

    No I wasn't.

Why would you think that ?

Good first post by the way, what are your other names on here just out of curiosity ?
  • DamienWyerDamienWyer    7,987 posts
I wasn't banned from taking photo's. In fact today walking around I couldn't believe the number of camera's in use.

Scott Hollands enforced a clause in his agreement with Perth Racing. I haven't asked for access since his departure mostly because I'm trying to wind down covering race days.

I have something coming up in January that is racing related, but outside of that I'm concentrating on buying the next round of yearlings on offer.
