I was born in Gosford (central coast NSW). Since then Sydney, London, Adelaide, Kilcare (central coast again), Brindabella (rural NSW - near Tumut) & now Canberra.

Canberra's a funny place Wizard - I moved here from the bush to put my kids through school. The politicians spend only a fraction of the year here & I never see them. There are no pubs on the southside where I am - my local is the Irish Club which is frequented mostly by tradies and retired blokes.

The tradies do OK - the local yellow pages would be five times the thickness of the white pages.

I only knew one person when I got here 15 years back but now have a large circle of friends - it's a very sociable place to live, has a small population (under 400,000), and being the national capital the roads,   parklands and lake foreshores are kept in great shape. It's like most places - if you know or can meet the locals you'll have a ball.

If anyone has cause to visit this over-serviced big country town, lob at the Iro & ask for Peter the Punter...............
