A new appointment was made to the stupids panel
We are only now seeing his name on the stupids report
There's a difference between Pike's shift outward shortly after turning and McGruddy changing his line as he shifted in. You can't hold a horse in a pocket by moving off your line-but you don't to yield either.
I agree....it looked that way in running and the head on only proved it. I though tit interfered with Amorino for about 2 strides, the Stipes said in announcing there decision that it was for 4 or 5 strides.. line ball call...McGruddy shifted in and made no attempt to keep his mount straight.
the margin and whether it was enough to stop it winning - all line ball. That one issue makes the difference
I agree it was a 50/50 call. I would have dismissed it personally but it's hardly in the grand final of worst protest decisions either. The Araldo-Sea Moon decision last spring in Melbourne was much worse.
Betstar actually changed their policy on protest payouts after the Sea Moon bungle because of punters threatening to bet with their competitors.

Haven't seen the replay but watching it live it was as obvious as a spare prick at a wedding

You are saying new member and new sheriff to town but at the same meet last year on 27 march 2013 ......H Taylor was on list of officials at the meet. I think it is you who is not understanding.
mr. taylor was lauded as the messiah of the panel....a job not the messiah himself could do.
