We need some speed meetings

At certain times of the year, when we are competing with football, or in summer when it is stinking hot, may I suggest an eight event Saturday race meeting commencing at 2.30pm, races every 25 minutes - meaning the last is at 5.15pm.
There is only 12 minutes of actual racing at an eight event race programme - 4 to 5 hours is too long, 40 - 42 minutes between races is too long.
At this time of 2.30pm the Eastern States races has all but finished.
It means you only have to spend a few hours at the races, rather than all afternoon, there is almost constant action, suits punters, trainers, jockeys and racecourse staff, and people will still have their ten beers, bet the same amount.
I realise it creates SKY problems, but a problem can be a challenge that can be overcome.
Rather than being a "big day out", it becomes something to do on a Saturday arvo after junior sport, working on a Saturday morning, and not so much a drain on an evening out.
People are "time poor" - its why golf (4 hours plus) is declining.
Just a thought, given the attendances at the track these days?
