Ascot 18/1 R3: Stewards have advised due to an error by track staff this race was actually run over 1380m.

first day for yonks i have not timed them as they are run!!
don't blame the track staff either.
blame those whose job it is to see everything is ok pre race.
    YOURS mr stewards.

Resetgold from where I stood, some 500M away from the finish line, and I'm thinking after listening to the call, how could she have run 9th or 10th??

    Finished fourth along the rail.

Running races over 1380 metres and not 1400 metres without any announcement is genuinely unbelievable...what next in the wild west? Of course the winner would have won anyway so no one cares...no worries mate.

It's embarrassing for all concerned. But what are they doing to ensure it doesn't happen again?

Didnt announce it because they didn't know. I'm guessing when they saw the time something clicked [-X

Looking at the very low attendance today at Ascot, there is a good chance that last Monday's rescheduled meeting actually did better turnover. I'm only guessing of course, but I'm told by several, that Monday had a better crowd.

So you had better hope that someone there has a plan for getting people back to the races, because as I have said before, a shiny new building is not the cure.

well the majority of the card was only a midweek program any way. so the level of attendance met the level of quality an interest..

The difference between the entertainment value between a great southern horse and a sat class horse is minimal so saying that its a midweek programme has got nothing to do with it. A shit crowd is a shit crowd, needs to be addressed.
