    That is pereverence, as I've retired horses after one start. We bought one horse for $100k, and we retired her before she even had a run. It's not a good sign when the ambulance overtakes them.

    Kim Prentice told me many years ago, and I've never forgotten it, a slow horse eats the same as a fast horse..

    Stop the Fight                                 Ouroene 

                 124 starts   - no wins  - 2 x 2nds,  7 x 3rds,  - $14,605. (1986)
    died a Maiden. 
    Ouroene started at odds of 500-1 racing Kingston Town in a very small field at weight-for-age. A chestnut foal born in 1975 by  Farnworth was trained by George Chiotis.
    Tragedy struck in 1986 in Brisbane. Working at Eagle Farm early one morning, ten year old Ouroene snapped a fetlock and had to be euthanased.
    George Chiotis stood helplessly, head bowed and face wet with tears as a vet mercifully ended her life. Then he knelt, kissed the old mare on a cheek, gave her a final pat, turned and walked away.
