I'm curious what Steack is going to do on Beach Express. I can't see any benefit in going back so that leaves going forward. Wonder if he will try and cross Buffering at the start. Buffering won't take a sit so he could be forced to work a bit harder than expected.

If Barakey beats Buffering on saturday ill smack myself in the face, that's how shocked i will be.. how could a horse who's had a year off, come back from surgery from a serious injury, is second up, vs the highest rated 5yr old gelding on timeform ratings @ 127 in Aus, is rock hard fit, is like Red Cadeaux as in the further from home he travels the better he races, and has shitload better formlines than Barakey.

Buffering will easily jump and cross to sit outside Barakey. I know Barakey is good but on form, everything just says "no" for me IMO, but i have seen crazier things happen..

Barakey for mind, will show everyone what a great horse he really is and win well on Saturday! Cracker field and he will not disappoint. Buffering will be right along side him for a bit of the straight, but Barakey will burst away and be too strong and SOB will fly home with PP to fight out third and forth.

    CMON BARAKEY!! U FREAK

Boys if you want to see a win google 2009 Winterbottom stakes. Just watched it 3 times in a row it's just unbelievable. I especially say watch it to the boys who think Power Princess can win because she'll have to be the equal of that run only she'll be trying to catch buffering and barakey. Good luck to her. If anyone has a link to Takeover Targets win put it up!

While you're at it watch Snipers Bullets win because it's exactly what longport is going to do.

I'm a bit surprised to read and hear people saying that due to Barakey drawing inside of Buff that Buff will take a sit on Barakey's shoulder... The Buff is going to get to the front no matter where Barakey is.

The barrier draw just helps set up the back markers as both the B's are capable of putting the pace on and holding it on.... PP or SOB (or nearly any of the swooping types)sitting back watching and waiting have been bought into the race more, due to the barrier draw.

Oh and we have had all of this discussion without even mentioning the jockeys to compare. Brown not the worst over here but Browne will make him look second rate. Our jockeys cant judge a pace to save their lives, wonder why half of the races are won by apprentices?

As usual for this card at least 3 of the races will be won by interstate/overseas jockeys.

As a value punter SOB is the play but I want Barakey to win for WA racing we need a star

Looking wide in the first 4 The Rising was a good win and you have to put in checkpoint I'm making Barakey the roving banker with 6 horses in the first 4 for 200

I just have a guy feel the Buff is done this campaign one time to the well too many as Fred Kersley would say

Backed Buffering, and thought he had it across the line - watching it live!  The slow-mo had me concerned though!

you and the Diva are pathetic..as i stated earlier the horse was biting off more than it can chew and as a result of putting a talentless horse in a higher grade race than it can handle i think you would be behind in the bet now Diva.. :-)

Oh and to anyone connected to SK.....i am only saying the above as a way of having a dig at Diva, and i think that Bomber knows well enough that he isn't pathetic in any way, shape or form....

maybe behind, but didnt lose too much ground adding $12,5k to the prizemoney. Still some water to pass under the bridge before you declare yourself the winner Rio!

I noted this on Saturday - exact same location of the He's Remarkable shift. Right as the horses angle shifts away from the head on angle, hard to see exactly what happened.

For the judgement to be that swift, it seems J Brown exonerated of all fault . . .

As stated on other thread, odd that SoB didnt have a throw at the stumps (given the LG precedent). Not as though he got beat 4L . . .

Just wondering where all of these people are now spruiking Barakey to beat Buffering by 5 lengths? Bahahaha...Eating those words now!

Best horse won the race in the end. Perth Racing should be happy with the results of the day.

Wasn't it reported that subsequent blood tests are showing Barakey to be suffering a virus...?

Clearly it wasnt the Barakey we all know. Im a big fan of him, but even if he had of brought his A game i doubt he could have won. Buffering clearly has franked the form through the spring.

must put my hand up pretty sure I declared barakey as my bet of the year best horse won the race for sure. Such a great leveller racing.

Barakey is crook so hard to say we won't know but he's won 12-14 that's some horse

If the Buff didn't carve spirit if boom up I'd say well done but he did the jock got a month 5 k fine so IMO moment of change would have been a fitting winner

However Buffering is a mighty horse just ridden by a jock who put spirit nearly thru the fence not cricket

He's Remarkable anyone comes to mind lack of consistency
