R1. Westspeed Initial Plate 1d - Dane Hollingworth

It?s great too see the two year olds back at the track and I think the market will be your best guide to most of these chances as a number are coming of the back of 400m trials.

I have settled on (5) Rare Selection from the Wolfe stable who has had the benefit of two career barrier trials. He looks a professional type and I liked the way he hit the line under little pressure from Mcgruddy. If he can make use of his gate then I think he can either lead or box seat and give a good sight at his first career start.

(4) Priceless Rock gave them a walloping in a recent barrier trial where he won by over five lengths. He is a very well bred type and looks to have good natural pace, it would be no surprise to see him win this easily first up.

(8) Our memory Girl was an impressive winner at her most recent barrier trial effort when leading from go to whoa. She will push forward from a wide gate and she has solid claims.

(1) Castle Retreat looks a typical jump and run Paul Jordan type horse. His recent barrier trial win was quite soft and he will give them all something to run down.

R2. Westspeed Initial Plate 2d - Dane Hollingworth

Another open race for the two year olds and I am happy to just watch this one. (12) Vitalism probably trialed the best out of this bunch after showing a nice turn of foot to come from last and win the trial. She missed the kick on that occasion however and if she does the same again here it could be race over, take her on trust if betting.

I didn?t mind the trial of (11) Versed Remedy who showed a nice short sharp turn of foot to win her trial. She can settle handy to the speed from a nice gate and I think she has good each way claims on debut.

    (3) Roebuck caught the eye in a recent barrier trial when coming from a fair way back in the straight to nab the frontrunners. He is likely to get back in running and be running on well late.

    (1) Chance Decore has trialed ok leading up to this event however I just worry where he will end up from barrier 12, he has claims with some luck.

R3. Konica Minolta Handicap - Dane Hollingworth

I am going for (1) Tiger Pete here whom has been a model of consistency this preparation. His last start effort behind Platinum Rocker in listed grade was solid and his form leading up to that effort was very consistent. He is a horse who needs a lot to go right for him in races as he tends to settle in the back of the field, however if Faithfull is positive from a nice gate then I think he will be pretty hard to hold out late in the piece.

    (7) Bippo No Bungus is a pretty talented mare on her day and her last race start was in the Natasha Stakes where she finished fourth behind Moreish. Her recent barrier trial was solid and from barrier three she is going to get all the favors in running, it would be no surprise to see her win a race like this first up.

    (2) Full Reign and (3) Angel of mercy bring some intrigue to this race as (2) Full Reign showed a great deal of ability last preparation and returns to the track off the back of a soft barrier trial, whilst (3) Angel of mercy makes her Western Australian Debut for Grant Williams. The market will be your best guide to these horses chances so remember to keep one eye on the market if your having a punt.

R4. Skyy Vodka Handicap - Dane Hollingworth

I?m happy to play here and get involved with the Vernon Brockman trained colt (2) Kheleva who ran a credible second behind Miss Rose Delago at his last start. He was a winner on debut in town over petals, and his last start effort suggested that he is a horse with his fair share of ability. If Pike can slot him in one off the fence from a sticky draw then I think he will take a stack of beating.

    (3) Matching Motors was well-supported last time out and he didn?t let the punters down with an impressive yet narrow victory. He was caught three wide the trip on that occasion but he still managed to find another gear late and hold of the fast finishing Flying Zoe. The step up in distance should suit and he should be in a much more prominent position from a middle gate; watch for him late attacking the line late.

    (6) Hey Bro has been knocking on the door this preparation and he looks the likely leader in the race. His previous effort behind the promising Testamezzo was full of merit, as he didn?t appear to get it all his own way up front. He has drawn perfectly in barrier three and it would be no surprise to see him lead from go to whoa here.

    (9) Cool Trade has trialed well leading up to this event and his only race start resulted in a second behind the speedy Ignition. The barrier draw is a concern for me as I can see him getting posted wide from out there, however if Carbery can weave some magic then he has claims.

    2. KHELEVA - 3. MATCHING MOTORS - 6. HEY BRO

    SUGGESTED BET - 2. KHELEVA $50 x $50

R5. Devon Gilmour Handicap - Dane Hollingworth

A tricky little race here, a lot will come down to luck in running.

I am tipping (4) My rouge on an each way basis who I think can slot in just behind a solid temp and be too strong for most of these late. His previous effort where he was able to sit outside a hot speed and kick away on straightening was full of merit and it would be no surprise to see him do the same here. The concussion plates go on which is a slight concern and he has not been seen for around a month, however with some luck I think he can win.

    (5) Navarda Lad looks the logical danger here after a solid effort behind Outlaw Blues saw him recapture some form from his last preparation. He gets well in at the weights in comparison to my top pick and he should get all the favors from a middle gate; look for him late.

    (6) Hurritdanz is a hard horse to catch but his last start effort behind Teen Idol suggested he is ready to win another race. Smith should snag him back towards the rear of the field and let him rip late, he is another who will be suited by the expected top end speed.

    (8) The Cavalieri (NZ) usually sprints well first up and he looks a blowout chance.

R6. Crown Perth Sprint - Dane Hollingworth

Everytime I look back at this race I get more confident about the chances of (4) The Rising. He meets most of his main rivals far better at the weights and he is drawn to get an absolute peach run just in behind the speed. His recent barrier trial was good and I expect him to be ready to rock and roll first up.

    (5) Modello is another horse who gets in very well at the weights after a pretty handy front running effort in the Birthday Stakes saw him finish third. He should fire straight on to the speed from a wide gate and might just prove pretty hard to run down.

    (1) Beach Express and (2) Excelorada both have to contend with big weights and I don?t think they can give that much weight to a class horse like (4) The Rising first up. (1) Beach Express was asked for absolutely nothing in a recent barrier trial and (2) Excelorada has not trialed at all, which is another concern. If they are ready to rock and roll first up then they can beat a few of these on class alone.

    (8) Born to Excel flies fresh and her most recent barrier trial was relatively sift, he appears a blowout chance.

    4. THE RISING - 5. MODELLO - 2. EXCELORADA

    SUGGESTED BET - 4. THE RISING $50 x $50

R7. Corestaff Handicap - Dane Hollingworth

I have settled on (7) So Symbolic here who has shown a good deal of ability since arriving in Western Australia. He was a shade disappointing last time out after fading late to finish third behind Doubtable, however I think he is better than that and if he can reproduce an effort similar to his first up performance then I think he will take a bit of beating here. He maps well here as he should be able to either take a sit or lead and the step up in distance shouldn?t be a problem as he has won over the distance twice before.

    (2) Finnegan?s Gold is racing in terrific fashion this preparation and he shapes up as one of the leading chances. He is a tough on pace runner who should bound across from an outside gate and probably breeze here, if they don?t break any records u front then he should be fighting out the finish.

    (8) Toppers Halo was a touch disappointing last start however it was in the jockeys opinion that he just couldn?t quicken as well as usual under the big weight. He drops a massive 6kg on his last start effort and his form prior to last start was very good with a string of wins and placing?s. The step up in grade and distance appear to be slight queries, however he should give you a sight at each way odds.

    (4) True Gold is a hard horse to catch but if he brings his A game then he can win this. All his runs this preparation have been solid and provided the race is run at a genuine tempo then I think he should running on well late.

    7. SO SYMBOLIC - 2. FINNEGANS GOLD - 8. TOPPER'S HALO

R8. Itmsoil Pty Ltd Handicap - Dane Hollingworth

    (8) Ora Dare is a promising type from the Adam Durrant stable and he looks to chalk up his fourth win this preparation here. He went out the short priced public elect at his last start but was unable to run down Hel Cool who enjoyed a very easy run on what appeared to be a snail like pace. There appears to be enough speed here with the likes of Verdello Blue and Private Odea engaged and from barrier 7 Paterson should have him in a forward enough position to have one last crack at them.

    (5) Leoluck jumps up to a staying journey for the first time this preparation and he is a tough on paced customer. He was game in defeat last time out behind Reale Furyand I loved the way he picked up again late in the piece to suggest he is ready for a step up in distance. He maps well here and I can see him getting a perfect trailing position just in behind some expected tempo and if this race turns into a dogfight up the straight then I know who I want to be on.

    (10) Reale Fury was a terrific winner last time out when unleashing a fast finishing burst to nab LeoLuck and The Alleged right on the line. He is another who steps up to the staying journey for the first time this preparation and the way he finished of his last race suggests to me that he will eat up every little bit of it. I just worry how far he gets back from barrier 14, if he can get a nice tow into the race then It would be no surprise to see him pinch this.

    (1) Verdello Blue and (6) State form are both tough as nails and they should enjoy a nice trip to handy to the speed. They look the two that everyone has to get over in the straight.

    8. ORA DARE - 5. LEOLUCK - 10. REALE FURY

Belmont R9. Racing Returns To Ascot Next Saturday Handicap - Dane Hollingworth

"A select little race to finish the day and there appear to be only a few genuine winning chances.

    (1) Sail Maker has found his mojo this preparation and put together three wins a row before narrowly going down to Magna Cat at his last start. He likes to get rolling just before straightening and I think the barrier draw here allows him to get of the fence and dictate the race from the front. Paterson knows the horse and provided he gets a few favors in running then I think he will be too hard to catch.

    (2) Dubai Escapade returned to racing in good fashion by storming home from last to pinch a 1400m race at Northam. He is a horse who has always shown a good deal of ability and the step up in distance looks ideal here. My only concern is where he ends up from barrier 10 and if he is going to give some of these too bigger head start.

    (8) Hale boy proved his first up effort this preparation was no fluke by posting a solid victory at Northam last start. Diamond Dan retains the mount and any positive betting moves should be respected.

    (9) Commended was good first up and the way he attacked the line suggests the step up to the mile will be in his favor. He will probably get back from a wide gate again here but watch for him late.

    1. SAIL MAKER - 2. DUBAI ESCAPADE - 8. HALE BOY

    SUGGESTED BET - 1. SAIL MAKER $100

I think Luckygray has a massive chance in the Toorak in Melb.Got D.Dunn aboard for the first time, ideal trip 1600mtrs,dead track and has not finished too far behind Atlantic Jewel and Rebel Dane!  At 20/1, so i shall take a bit of that!

like Castle Retreat in the first
from a running 2yo family with the likes of denver dame ,from a honest mare in Clarecastle by oratorio only down side , my get lost from that barrier
    carries a 4x4 haulpak
rodeo drive seems the other danger , from Fortune Streak which they obvious thought had plenty of ability sending her east , by street cry
    carries a 5x5 Cosmah and 4x5 Raise a Native
