She sucks everyone in, always flying home after the race is over...jockey change to Maskiell this time round - but has only beaten home 8 horses in her last three starts - not for mine, but then again she'll win one of these someday!

Linton for mine, has returned nicely from a short let up and the barrier should allow him to smoke the pipe on the fence and come home nicely!

Ferlax could be a blowout chance with the jockey change to Oliver, but drawn off the track!

I like the jockey change for Luckygray, great ride last week on HT - maybe it's the change LG has needed over there!

But have to agree it isn't the best Group 1 field going around - atleast it's a full field!

Yes she appealed but that was dismissed on Monday.

Hasnt anyone looked at the Rupert Clarke replay? Speediness almost nabbed Rebel Dane on the line and was the best run by far. At $7 i will be getting onto that. Surely that race was the best form race into this? Otherwise Mouro looks a good chance off recent runs.

With the bunched finish and fontelina in the finish id be looking away from the rupert clarke (although not sure what to look at instead )

Ferlax started shortest in that race and is now out the gate... yeah looks pretty bad

Gee I hope they ride Lucky Gray off the pace so he can swoop like he did over here!

Im on him at good odds

LG 3rd the fence with good speed on????

I can not understand these tactics! If he sat where the winner was, he would of come home just as well

  • No he wouldn't have he's not up to them

Maybe, but the tactics were still horrible. Smerdon couldn't train his way out of the paper bag he handed to ollie.

  • Agree regard tactics. But he's proven time and time again in Melbourne he's not up to it

    Rawiller rode it a treat

Agree LG may not be up to the class, but ridden upside down makes him look a maiden at moora!

    Time
for Luckygray to go back to WA. Just not up to the quality in the
eastern states. Riding it upside down and on the pace doesn't
help...........Luckygray needs to be ridden cold and then come from
behind. Not up to the best in Melbourne but riding it upside makes
    Luckygray look very ordinary.

Based on that comment you obviously think he was trained to the minute and ridden to perfection at all of his Melbourne starts.

we can say it until we are blue in the face (sorry slip)...rarely does a wa horse compete successfully in the higher class fields of the eastern states.

please do not regurgitate northerly and rogan josh

I doubt Pago Rock is a better horse than Luckygray.

They(Eastern States horses) all had their chance to beat him in the Railway. He gave them all weight and ran past all of them, the only horse he didn't beat was WA horse Mr.Moet who got a 5kg weight advantage. Mr Moet was good enough to run third to ATH in the Autumn so that is good enough for me. Who knows exactly why he has been a failure in melbourne? But he hasn't been at his best, that's for sure.
