So who was the winner? surely without the rider the horse is disqualified?

Geez it was close, I reckon the Hoop may have stayed on just long enough to cross the line - touch and go.
    Nasty fall though.

This was put up as a "something you dont see every day" type thing. No intention of making fun of falling jocks/horses as i know how much of a dangerous sport this is. That said, i have no idea what the actual rules are let alone macau but i would like to think he got the bikkies and the owners gave him a sling.... Get it,  for his arm.... anyway re read my post. i am not laughing

    For the record :

    RACE-3
Following the running of the race, the “Enquiry” sign was semaphored to establish whether PROFITABLE (A HELFENBEIN) finished the race. As the Stewards were satisfied that Jockey A HELFENBEIN remained in contact with PROFITABLE via the rein when that horse’s nose passed the finish line, the Stewards were satisfied that the horse be deemed a runner and therefore was able to be placed by the Judge. Correct Weight was given on the Judge’s placings:

It was established that PROFITABLE broke down in the left fore fetlock joint and fell when crossing the line. As a consequence I GOT PICTURES which attempted to jump the fallen horse dislodged its rider and as the fallen horse regained its feet, collided with WONDERFUL STEED resulting in Jockey W L HO being dislodged . Approaching the winning post THE STAR HOPE was checked and steered out to avoid the fallen horses and riders.  Jockey A HELFENBEIN was taken to hospital for treatment.

Thanks rac, it seems like a fair bit of thought went into it by the stipes. Just to make it interesting, What do you think the stewards report would read like if it were to happen in Perth?

Race 3: Something really weird happened and no one here can get their heads around it so a no race was called and the on course doctor was required to attend and supply all officials with panadols.
