Belmont seeming to play leader bias at this early stage of the winter season. No suprise, but in bigger fields if your fancy can get on speed from the start your in with a winning chance. Obvioulsy different in smaller field sizes, but good judges of tempo are winning these races easily so far.

God Jimmy Cassidy would have a field day here!

Indeed it does happen Dungy. But the other thing to keep in mind with Leggy Blonde is that yesterday was the first time in her career where she has raced off a 7 day back up. Some horses handle it better than others and until you try it with them you just don't know. Not that I want to make excuses for her but her next start may well answer the question as to whether or not that was the case.

Okay I give up. How did you select that? Last at Narrogin and last at Northam and beaten a total of 30 lengths those last two starts. It drew barriers 2 and 3 compared to outside barrier 16 yesterday :-? :-? :-?

Some must have fancied it as it was only $21 fixed odds .Before the race was run I would have thought $201 was more realistic.

yes spudley, i was thinking exactly what Slip wrote...What did posessed you to waste $10 on it!!!! Well that is what i would have said before the race

There is a clue for what happened in the stewards report and after speaking to Jayne myself after the race she confirmed the same thing with me.

After racing at Northam the Horse has since won a trial with the tongue tie removed and it was listed in the gear change report as racing without a tongue tie yesterday too and BINGO, it obviously paid off for them. Well done to Jayne and the connections.

Durrant is usually the master of backing his horses up with success off a 7 day break especially when in winning form like Leggy Blonde was

If this trend continues it wont be long till PR receive another letter from someone crying wolf that the bookies have a syndicate with 10 jockeys on their payroll  :P :-))

so are the bookies organising the rorts or are they writing the letters complaining about them?

    Im confused?  :-B

whichever it is, Im sure they're to blame!

I do agree with you Hash. But the jockey and trainer were both of the opinion that the Horse may not be suited in racing week to week so if nothing else becomes amiss with her then maybe she just races better with her runs spaced apart.

On the other hand though during her last prep she won her Maiden over 1500 and then ran 2nd over 1650m 6 days later so maybe there is something else thats not quite right with her that explains yesterdays performance :-/

when you do find out if something not quite right, feel free to PM with the heads up

that was my 3rd decent bet in a week yesterday on a horse that simply looked to have its race nailed on yet got rolled miserably  L-)    :((

if and a fav wins and is well supported its the punters organising the rort....... if its a well supported fav or fav in general and it gets beaten outta sight then its the bookies hooking the race :P

either way it wouldnt be possible for it to unfold if those bloody 10 jocks weren't on each sides payroll  :-))

    ok enough of that!!

Ghost Trader this may be silly but my method was like this 1. Tongue tie off 2. J Whiting normally T Turner 3.Grey horse have a soft spot for them ( I owned Royal Cobra and Silver Omen ) 4 His name is similar to what I am going to call my next horse and after knocking off nearly $700 in a week thought WTF and bingo he led all the way but if I had put 50x 50 he would have got beat, punting is a game of many variables you just do not know when your luck can change.
