Pinjarra R1. Mandurah Kia Grand Carnival Maiden - 'Lucky' Phil Pense
Alright punters I’m on the short and sharp side of things. Let’s not worry about the foreplay let’s get down and dirty. The first couple on the card don’t leave us with a lot of form to work with so I’m going with the tried and tested, all be it limited in ability thus far.
R1. There are six of the ten runners with no career starts and what they have accomplished in their trials is not anything to write home about.
I’m going with (1) Nacho, just think it gets a nice draw from the 6 barrier and last start he fought on strongly over the final stages and given it gets another 200m to sink its teeth into should be in the finish.
(7) Faster Faster has the widest draw but will be fitter for the run on the 14th of this month, when it finished 3rd behind Lil Kim and Nacho. Had some cover the final 300m chased strongly but really didn’t have the minerals in the finish.
(2) Chancery finished 4th behind the previous picks but led until the 200m mark and got run over the top of. Will hopefully be fitter for the run and put in a more sustained effort over the longer distance.
(3) Rough Saxsonic Jack. Had a reasonable trial last start over 1000m and should get a good sit with S.O.D. on board and hopefully put it there abouts to ask the question.
1. NACHO - 7. FASTER FASTER - 2. CHANCERY

R2. (9) Bar Dreaming, which I will have no doubt done prior to the race, is coming back after a few weeks off after running at Ascot and Bunbury - respectively finishing second each time should be a favourite here for its first victory. Was second behind Thunderluv’n back on the 2nd of March and that form is good enough for me to have a cheeky here. Hopefully its been training the house down and gets over the line.
(1) Lighten Load will need to get over early but will run the distance after its last start. Had to move off the rails out into some clean air last start and made good ground over the final stages but couldn’t get the W. However today could be the day, provided the run is set up early?
(12) Now Cyclone Lilly could be the Bob Sapp of the bunch here and land the knockout blow, or in Bob Sapp fashion spend all the petrol tickets by the bend. Last two trials have been ok and from the 5 quick draw could get in a nice pozzie to feature in the finish. Should be ripe after a couple days lay off and either wants it or not.
Rough #8 Zabenetto. Today is the day we decide whether or not you really want to be a racehorse or a ballerina. Your form is rubbish and let’s be honest how many hits can the owners take.
9. BAR DREAMING - 1. LIGHTEN LOAD - 12. CYCLONE LILLY
R3. (1) Holy Maximus should be ready to go considering it’s prep and last two starts finishing in the cheddar over similar distance. Last start was 8th top of the turn In Traffic and pushed through between runners & chased strongly to line for 3rd. Good draw and hopefully a good ride will give it the victory.
(7) Lucky Hazel Looked really good when cut out of the running at the top or the turn last start. Obviously a bit more time to work into the clear with the distance and should be there abouts here today lads.
(8) Dream Stealer shook the boots off the last rider and that was all she wrote, however prior to that was in good form and there is no reason (other than the obvious) why it can’t feature here today. Good draw + T.Turner could be the finishing touch.
Rough (9) Offshore Asset, show me something IKE...please!
1. HOLY MAXIMUS - 7. LUCKY HAZEL - 8. DREAM STEALER
R4. Well jeezus, not much really here. If I had to, and I do, (7) Time Traveller. I don’t mind its last start and if you want to ride your stacks on something coming from 14 wide let’s have it here...gently.
(9) Hell’s Lady, is no princess, but this has nice form this campaign and should figure there abouts come the finish.
(10) Terrick Terrick. OK form prior to a 24 day lay off and a nice draw. Step up to the 1400m but should run it out and could sneak a drum. IKE???
No thank you.
7. TIME TRAVELLER - 9. HELL'S LADY - 10. TERRICK TERRICK
(3) Oneofus stepped up to the 1200m last start and had a real dip and looked to go extremely close but just got ran over in the final stages. Its start prior to that it stalked the leaders and split them at the 300m mark to storm home. Has won at this distance and added with the good draw and Pikelets on top enough to get the nod from me. Let’s have it.
(1) Hazy Heart had a great campaign up in Geraldton earlier in the year were it strung together 3 wins on the trot. Came down to the big smoke and ran an admirable 4th over the same distance. Banjo will give it a 2kg claim and not that that is a major issue but will help considering it was run over in the final stages last start. Should go close.
Paps get the ride on the lightly raced (9) Vesnas Dream which seems to love coming 3rd but it hit the line hard in its first outing at Pinjarra. I expect it to be doing just that this time around and could be value
3. ONEOFUS - 1. HAZY HEART - 9. VESNA'S DREAM
(7) Toro Express has been around the mark the last three starts over similar distances to this and in slightly tougher fields.
(4) Bawcatme was outclassed last start when it spent all its tickets early and was outgunned. But prior to that had some cover and split off the leaders to hit the line hard and take the money. Gets a nice draw and could replicate its win two starts ago right here.
(6) Little Grey Teapot has had a massive spell and really hasn’t done much in its 26 starts but Pikelets must see something in it to take the ride and from an ok barrier draw may be some value here.
7. TORO EXPRESS - 4. BAWCATME - 6. LITTLE GREY TEAPOT
I have four definite contenders right here.
(1) Copper Reign, after a three month lay off this thing has put together two good runs finishing second on both occasions albeit over a shorter distance. However I think with the extra ground today could get over the line. Provided S.O.D. gets it to sit well in the running from the 1 on the jump it should be every chance come show time. Distance should not be a problem as it has won over 1600m before, however fitness is.
(14) The Pupster. The Fish on board and this has been running the projected distance the last few starts, so fitness is of no issue. If it can settle in the running and gets some clean air in the straight and doesn’t have to negotiate too much I’m giving it every chance come show time.
(13) My Fascination. S.O.D. jumped off this to ride Copper Reign but the form around this is quite nice and it looks to have built up to the distance. Last start finished behind Rivimac but kicked wide on the bend when 7th and came home strongly to finish 2nd. If NOS can put it there abouts maybe he can flick the switch and ask the question.
(3) Rivimac. Has won at this distance already a couple times and coming off a great win last start when basically leading all the way to hold the rest at bay, safely mind you over the same distance. I expect a few more questions to be asked of it this time but the 3kg claim today should hold it in good stead and possibly a repeat of last start is on the cards.
1. COPPER REIGN - 14. THE PUPSTER - 13. MY FASCINATION
Very open race the last and an opportunity to get out of jail if you can snag a winner here. I’m going to have dip at (9) Quick Draw. Winning form is good form and one would think the way this thing won last start should be every chance again today. I would expect it to ask the question early here today from the 10, but if it doesn’t get over hopefully gets cover and hits the middle of the track on the bend and storms home for a pay day.
(7) Richtiram Lass broke down during its last start and has had a nice three month break to get cherry ripe and I expect a good show here. Hasn’t won at the distance and possibly wants an extra 200m but this could be a good entree’ first up. Trialled ok over 1000m at the start of the month and provided Tina gives it a chance should be every hope.
(3) Ninu Yarada second up is one from one and has put together some nice runs since early march. A little break and should be raring to go today. Could be show.
The lightly raced (2) Traded Halo has been racing in tougher company and looks to be at a more suitable distance. Disregard last two starts, but three back showed some ticker to hit the line after being checked at the 200m mark. If it can replicate that run here today it will go close.
(1) Conservative Front will be rough but has raced in tougher company prior to the three month lay over but doesn’t have the greatest first up record. However that being said it could be a rough chance to sneak up on them.
9. QUICK DRAW - 7. RICHTIRAM LASS - 3. NINU YARADA

As for you Carey, 'my computer does not like them either'. Please. Do you do the form in between playing World of Warcraft? I would take a f*cken dartboard over that computer of yours and be driving past you at the bus stop on my way home from the track.
And motivated, toss a couple of your tips ups then. Newsflash pal, if you are going to be using 'IMO' and the like, I hope you are a teenage girl.
I am getting on Lucky Phil's tips with vigour. All the best Phil.

we have a new comedian on ptt, you have lost your job slip! =))
oh gary, i was not saying i don't like his tips, i didn't even look at them.
i said the computer does not like s.a.miller's horses today, and motivated just happens to know a little bit about s.a.miller's horses =))
now for an idiot like me...what is world of warcraft?
not even a two bob gambler, punting is a mug's game =))

At the end of the day it is just another opinion..
