Garlett didn't get picked up. Surely will get rookie listed, worth a punt

Yes he can, so can Fev, he has a fair few problems, got booted from AIS and runs with a bad crew.

Is best mates with Newman at the Eagles who is obviously in trouble at the moment so chances are we arent going to bring those two together. His best chance is over east where he can be isolated from his ties here, I reckon some clubs will do their due diligence between now and next draft and he might find his way on a list, Saints were pretty keen apparently and Watters may think he can sort him out and worth a spot on their rookie list.

When every club overlooks him when he is a top 10/20 talent you know his issues are pretty serious.

What did everyone make of Dockers picks? looked alright at first glance Duffy seems a wildcard hoping he can back up the talk but he may as well start out confident Simpson I have no idea about but quick and skillful sounds good.

I would have liked us to take Duffy with one of our late picks if he was still there, has a lot of potential and hopefully for you guys he can improve enough in a professional system, boom or bust type pick. Simpson looks a good one, a lewis jetta type, run and carry player. Amazingly you guys finally took a KPP in the national draft but I dont know much about Tanner Smith.

Yep Garlett def suited to a non Perth club. Sleepy Adelaide could b the place for him....Port should b desperate enough to take the punt

Interesting article on how Barcelona are getting their players they love locals may be a message there.

Freo made a c0ck up this I reckon, no world beater but decent player for depth and a player I would have thought would have fit in and excelled under Lyon given a role...

They had committed to redrafting him, but until McPhee retired it may have only been rookie list. Was just an unfortunate victim on the stupid rule that clubs need to cull there lists to a certain level prior to the draft. Can't blame him though as will get more opportunities at the bullies. Good luck to him

Couldnt crack a game last year is well down the picking order no biggie at all he is a bit part player at best would fit in well at the Tiges :))

Ross wants speed, even in depth players. He wouldn't have got a game this year barring injuries, I think he knew this.

No room in Ross's model for multiple slow midfielders. We already have Barlow and to lesser degree Mundy. He was essentially competing for his housemates spot.

His model worked with Hayes, Ball and Jones...

That Garlett would have to be a fair dinkum thick head he will stay on the scrap heap was warned about his social life goes and trains with the Bombers all good then comes home and goes on a bender with THE BROTHERS in Freo on Saturday night any wonder nobody will touch him his damaged goods waste of talent
  • octaviusoctavius    2,290 posts
Word is he has a juvenile record (which cant be released) and is one of the major reasons clubs won't go near him.

Errrrr yeah, hence why Barlow, Mundy and Crowley are in the guts . . . all pedestrian over 20.

He wants the blokes on the fringes to provide what Brett Peake couldn't :))

Plus the plan is certaintly not the same as the St K plan, different ground, different list strengths. Our last 13 weeks were executed very similar to the way the premiers went about it. True that Parker and other fringe midfielders at the Swans weren't lightning either, but could use it. Unfortunately Nick wasn't very deep by foot.

He'll do well at Bullies with chance, they just need AFL standard players no matter what their strengths/weaknesses.

Micky Walters caught up in a little bit of a scuffle at the Crown hanging the brotherhood that will only end in tears no doubt why do these blokes hang with bad crowds when they have so much on the line ???
Im tipping Ross The Boss will have a quiet chat about the company he is keeping

Hopefully LARS is an option, otherwise medical advice may recommend him to find another career...
Good to hear that Lyon went with him to hospital. A good chance the bloke was/is in a pretty fragile state of mind.
  • octaviusoctavius    2,290 posts
Without knowing anything about the two procedures I guess you can look at it two ways, why would you want to take a short cut with a young player with knee injury history, or perhaps the traditional procedure hasn't worked and might be worth having a look at another method.

Given his talent and age you would think he would still take the traditional option.
  • HenleyBrookHenleyBrook    408 posts
well his career is on the line. A bloke that age shouldn't be getting multiple knee injuries of such. Depends if Freo want to spend the $$$ on the treatment and persevere with him. Very unlucky as he showed he can play!
  • goosegoose    1,638 posts
Good idea he may as well give it a run should be playing WAFL late this year.

It was that or it was career over, good luck to him I hope it works!!
