Nikolic will seek a Supreme Court injunction to allow him to return to the saddle tomorrow after he was stood down indefinitely for allegedly making threatening remarks about the family of Chief Steward Terry Bailey at Seymour yesterday.

Nikolic denies his comments were threatening and jockeys decided to ride the remainder of the meeting, rather than strike in support of Nikolic.

It certainly sounds like the relationship between Bailey and Nikolic has reached the point of no return. Both alledge comments and conduct that are completely denied by the other.

Nikolic has been under seige lately with questions being asked of his participation in two races, the latest of which he rode Royal Mail into third in the Victoria Cup (2000m) at Caulfield.

What was Nikolic even thinking in trying to be a smart arse with a Steward who is currently investigating him ? Anyone with half a brain would have kept their distance and their mouth shut otherwise they are just fanning the flames.

I don't think NASA will be calling him for an interview anytime soon.

Nikolic has to be a twit, that's for sure. He is just digging himself into a deeper hole.

Is it actually Terry Bailey investigating him?

Is it actually Terry Bailey investigating him?

There are at least 3 bodies looking at situations (most of which involve DN in some way)

    The Police
    RVL special investigator
    The stewards

Obviously Terry is involved in the stewards investigations directly but I would think is involved in some way with the others.

    This is quite unbelievable now:

Tribunal told cops called over clash between jockey Danny Nikolic and race steward Terry Bailey

    Padraic Murphy, Matt Stewart

    CORRUPTION detectives sent police to
protect Victoria's top race steward, Terry Bailey, after he allegedly
clashed with Danny Nikolic, a dramatic hearing was told.

And in another development, Nikolic said he had been told by a
senior jockey a third race - one run at Bendigo - was being investigated
    over allegations it was fixed

The 5 1/2 hour hearing ended with the board rejecting Nikolic's evidence and accepting Bailey's account.

    Nikolic,
who had been banned indefinitely from riding after a heated run-in with
Bailey at Tuesday's Seymour races, will not be able to ride today.

An appeal could be heard as soon as tomorrow.

    Bailey
had claimed Nikolic, who is being investigated for alleged race fixing,
abused him with expletives before threatening him.

"We've all got family ... and we know where yours is living," Nikolic is alleged to have said.

"Danny Nikolic headed towards me and made threats towards myself and my family," Bailey told a hearing at Racing Victoria .

But Nikolic hit back, telling the hearing that he would never threaten Bailey and did not know where he lived.

"Family is the most important thing to me," he said.

    In
a series of stunning allegations it was also revealed Bailey had
contact with the Purana Taskforce, which is probing the murder of racing
    identity Les Samba - Nikolic's former father-in-law.

    Bailey
claimed on one occasion Nikolic tried to eavesdrop on a phone
conversation he was having with Purana officers at the track.

    Bailey
said he was contacted by a Purana detective after an earlier clash in
which Nikolic allegedly said "Eyes on the road, Terry", a comment that
    led to a stewards' investigation.

Bailey said the Purana detective sent police from Seymour, but Nikolic had left by the time they arrived.

"The detective indicated they'd notify Seymour police and they'd come in case there was trouble," Bailey said.
But Nikolic hit back, denying he made the threats, and claiming he was threatened by Bailey.

"I told you I was going to finish your career," Bailey is alleged to have said to Nikolic.

    Lawyers
for Nikolic said Bailey had told racing identities Cara Rodd and her
father, Vince Aspinall, he would see Nikolic banished from Victorian
    racing.

But when contacted, both Ms Rodd and Mr Aspinall denied ever hearing Bailey say that.

"That's news to me. He's too professional to do that," Mr Aspinall said.

The allegations emerged in an appeal by Nikolic against a ban imposed on him earlier this week.

    Nikolic
said that after Bailey allegedly threatened to finish his career other
jockeys were prepared to strike but he told them there would be "no
    winners in doing this".

Asked about the race-fixing allegations, Nikolic said: "I'm not upset because I have done nothing wrong."

Racing Integrity Commissioner Sal Perna and Bailey both said they were unable to comment on the Bendigo race.

Nikolic stands to miss the ride on glamour mare Mosheen at Flemington on Saturday.

lack of brains.......being investigated he'd do well to stay as far away as possible from the stewards, unless requested to see them...and then only with his lawyers....bizarre behaviour...Doesn't do his credibility any favours..

note he allegedly says "WE know where you live..."

the "WE" is a bit intimidating.

Clearly lost the plot has Dan...used to know him well enough to say he was a top bloke, but seems to have just lost his mind of late. Disappointing as the guy is a seriously good rider...

Latest story - has been charged:

Stewards Lay Charges Against Danny Nikolic

    Monday, 10 September 2012:
Racing Victoria stewards have issued two charges against Danny Nikolic
following an investigation into comments made by the jockey to the
chairman of stewards Terry Bailey at the Seymour race meeting on
    September 4.

    The
particulars of both charges are that Nikolic approached Bailey prior to
the running of Race 6 and made comments that were threatening to Bailey
and the safety of his family.

    Nikolic has been charged by
stewards under Australian Rule of Racing 175(a) which reads “Any person,
who in their opinion, has been guilty of any dishonest, corrupt,
fraudulent, improper of dishonourable action or practice in connection
    with racing may be penalised.”

    Nikolic was also charged under
Australian Rule of Racing 175A which reads “Any person bound by these
Rules who, either within a racecourse or elsewhere, in the opinion of
the Committee of any Club or the Stewards has been guilty of conduct
prejudicial to the image, or interests, or welfare of racing may be
    penalised.”

The charges will be heard by the independent Racing Appeals & Disciplinary Board at 10am on Wednesday.

    The
RAD Board is scheduled to hear an appeal by Nikolic against the order
issued by stewards at Seymour on September 4 that he be stood down from
    riding.

The charges issued by stewards are listed to be heard following the appeal.

Nikolic’s application for a stay of proceedings to continue riding until the appeal was denied by the RAD Board last Wednesday.

Sometimes yes...but not this time..lets not forget that Nikolic is being investigated for his involvement in a murder case....not the time to play the tough guy, no matter who you are.
