Which is Simon Miller's best 3 year old filly?

What a sensational group of 3 year old fillies the mayor of Subiaco has! The question is, "how do you rate them; and how will he accommodate all of these fillies in the upcoming carnival. Miss Solis, Darlington Abbey, Hussy by Choice and Grey Cheval are all well above average. Keeper Quiet and perhaps Fuddle Dee Duddle may keep Simon honest but there is a real chance he could clean sweep the 3 year classics, especially the fillies races. I do note that Simon has nominated Hussy by Choice and Miss Solis for the One Thousand Guineas on 17 October at Caulfield. Perhaps that is a lead as to how he rates his fillies?

Do tell Funkster. I have heard he has a couple in the stable that haven't raced yet and apparently they fly!

I had heard whispers about how good Hussy By Choice was before it had even raced.

Yep, won pretty well last start. Looks ike she may have a bit more scope than the other 2

After the trial of Miss Solis where does she rate now? I was expecting a better showing and she had to be shown the wip and her time was poor in comparison to some of the softer wins during the heats. Durrants horse Elyssa Grace went past her quite easily with knuckey on board.

On that trial I would have to rate Grey Cheval and Hussey by Choice above her at the moment. I know she is on a Champion Fillies campaign but she would need to improve a deal on the trial.

Was a strange trial. Crawled early and sprinted hard on straightening. I'll wait until I see her race form. Some of the others are just winter form. The better 3yo's are yet to return to trials as the main races are a few months away yet.

I disagree. Bombora was hard held during the trial and she was flatout keeping up with him. Yet he only posted 58.58 which is moderate at Lark Hill as you know Wilson. What concerns me is that she was close enough to Bombora a furlong out but couldn't sprint or let down. Basically couldn't keep up with Elyssa Grace either who is rated 66 with midweek form. Either something is wrong with the filly or maybe she hasn't come back as a 3yr old.

According to Simon Miller the way all his horses work is scary. I wonder if the all confident Simon Miller thinks Miss Solis is scary now.

I'm not potting Simon Miller because I've had my share of collects on his horses I'm just saying that I doubt he would have sent her to the trials to run 59.22 at lark hill over 950m beaten 4 lengths with the wip out.

    blinkers.

Miss Solis was ordinary in her trial. Not many horses that "star" in October as an early 2 yr old make a 3 year old. Darlington Abbey trialled super well in comparison. My call is Hussey by Choice may be the pick of the bunch of very good fillies. Time will tell.

I am  sure SM horses work 'scary'. They would have to because his results are scary good. Second best strike rate in Australia last year. Have a look at his 3 year olds. Miss Solis 4 from 7(32k purchase). Hussy By choice 2 from 2. Grey Cheval 2 from 2(9k purchase). Hard Ball Get 2 from 2. Darlington Abbey 3 from 4. With the exception of DA he purchased them all and having watched some trials I think he has  unraced 3 year old stock just as talented as these named horses. If I was him i would be 'all confident' to. Whip has a 'h'.

    Blinkers.

As far as October horses not making 3 year olds I believe it depends on the trainer and his system. Night War went ok as a 3 year old only getting beaten once to Cavallo pazzo by a small margin (strong form line now) and to my eye Fuddle dee Duddle looks to have come back well this year. Both those horses were very early 2 year olds.

I like Darlington Abbey of the raced brigade,  but I like an unraced filly to be the best overall.

    Point Taken.

Everyone knows the stables stats and that of the horses he trains. She improved sharply after her trial before the Supremecy Stakes win with with the addition of blinkers. I'm thinking she will need more than blinkers during the feature 3yr old races this spring.

In my opinion she may not be that high up the pecking order of Simon Miller 3yr fillies this Spring as the Topic asks.

I suspect that she will be doing her best work at a mile as a 3 year old.

Having said that she is small in stature.

Even if she doesn't come back you would think she has done her job as a money spinner. Owned for less than 2 years and earnt 210k plus some sort of residual value.

I should start another thread but DA would have to be exceptional to beat Petrenui if Petrenui reproduces last Wednesday's form.

DA is very good..and the trial looked easy.....Reckon she will be better over distance, but will give a good account of herself on Saturday

Race this Sat is at DA mercy. I doubt she will get past 1,200m. Was first horse beaten in Karrakatta, but love to own her.

Got a feeling there was an excuse or two "before" the Karrakatta, but reckon she will slowly build - if they can keep her fit - and prove herself over 1200 and more. And agree Theodor..would love to have a bit of her

petrenui would win the breeders cup, the uk derby, melbournbe cup, caulfield cup, cox plate, the arc, warrnambool to melbourne bike race, last years railways stakes in a breeze, and anything else, IF it can reproduce last week's run,
