Might have missed this info Pratty. Who is the new trainer?

Leon McDonald is taking over the reigns now. Anyone know much about him?
he won last years caulfield cup.
he also had a couple of very good ones that i can remember...umrum & gold guru, especially gold guru
Hoping he might be able to get her to jump a bit better. Always seems to be slow out of the gates. Anyone know if this is even possible?

in my limited experience horses that don't jump well can sometimes be sore in front. Would make sense in that they are not too keen in feeling the inevitable pain from those first few strides from a stationary position? Just a theory.

Guessing that would make some sense with AFU?
Either way, get that start sorted a little better and she would be a serious weapon

Hope they can sort that out. I'm glad that we made the decision to send her over east though. More options for her over there.
  • Heard a whisper that a new trainer for AFU after saturday, ex champion rider who is training quite a few winners from Vic

Take out BC and that race is terrible!

At best a Saturday open class sprint in Melbourne!

    $3.50 to win by 2.0-3.9L
    $2.30 to win by 4.0-5.9L

Can't see the margin being outside of these two bets!

She'll belt this lot, but they won't ride her out hard (so the 6+ is out)

I find it strange Power Princess went for the listed race over the Goodwood. There's more prize money for second in the Goodwood and a group 1 second to Black Caviar looks pretty handy on the cv.

already got the placing to Black Caviar on the resume. Connections want a win for the mare now, for similar prizemoney.

How does BC get only 57 kgs? Surely it should get 65kg for a Handicap race?

Not a handicap it is set weights and penalties.

Not much of penalties given then. Been racing in Class 6 fields called Group 1s. It has made such a joke of racing.

    Awesome.
On a sad week of losing a couple of champions, the great mare steps up to show us her magnificent qualities.
    Gotta love horse racing!
