A new one has achieved entrance to the hallowed halls of fame:
Dean Yendall on Excluded today in the Terang Cup.

Would hate to have tried to explain that to Team Williams, considering the money was on in substantial fashion...

Nominated for a rating 82+ race at the Valley on friday. Might be a chance to get some back ahead of derby day?

Scott Thurlow on Southern Shimmer in the Black Nugget at Mudgee. One of the surest things beaten i've ever seen. Thurlow kept running up the back of horses the entire straight before pushing out and running home the last 150m. Should have won by three and won its next start with ease.

that was at sandown when the steeple track used to be on the inside and they had to come onto the course proper at the 300. he stayed on the inside track. it was 3 infront at the time and home.

i actually don't think shane's ride was that bad and i don't think scrivens ride on octagonal made a difference either came across the replay the other night and nothin leica dane held him the last 100m.

Ollie cut the corner and Shane went looking for better ground behind the grandstand

yes. 1992. he went a bit soon but the track was better out there. the last 100m they were in the same ground right next to each other. she had the softer run and won the race. i've never been able to hang shane for it though.

Thanks for bringing back the memories of the Falcon. I was on it from 500/1 to 200/1 e/w in both cups and had tipped it to plenty of people who were also on. I have still not got over that ride in the CC.

Adam McCabes ride on Werd two starts back when beaten by Morant.

Not as high profile a race as some of the above, but the fact the Gangemi's flew him across the country for a 50k race claiming none of our available apprentices were capable did make me laugh.

And no, I wasn't on so this is completely unbiassed!

I am an unabashed Yendall fan, but it wasn't one of his best without a doubt. Have a read of the stewards report on the Racing Victoria website, was asked to explain.

Rhys mcleod at mv on a fri night? :D

I actually like rhys mcleod...very well balanced rider. But on occassions (too many) he doesnt do enough on them. I guess thats why he gets five rides a week.

Have to agree on Aichi,It was a straight race,a small field and I think the horse is still trying to get out.
McEvoy would agree it was his worst ride,I was in a state of shock for a long time after that race and it still brings back horrible memories

Chris Munce on Rogan Josh in 1999 Caulfield Cup. Sent him to the lead with 800m to go. Finished 4th, should of been more patient on "Josh".

Bart took Munce off and put Perth boy John Marshall on and won the Mackinnon and Melbourne Cup and a 4th in the Hong Kong Vase.

    On ya Johnny :D

    Cheers,
    PC.

Worst ride... A woman I met at...... sorry about that you meant racing...

How about a group of jockeys in one race. Every jockey that rode in the race (bar the winner of course) won by Twin Spin at Belmont. All of my vintage will remember it and will never forget it.

Trainers racing up the escalator to give excuses to the racecaller... yeah right!!!! In Shakespeare's words thou all protested too much that day.

Selecting an individual I'd pick Patrick Payne on Northerly when beaten by Freemason ....very ordinary.

  • was a shocker, remember a few forumites (Dungy was one) wrapping her big time, once they lose their claim its only the cream that stays on top
