Anyone know when the final field is declared? With the Monday a PH, will it be Tuesday or will it be with the normal Wednesday acceptances? Is there a function it will be done at?

The elevation of any horse in the ballot under the discretionary balloting provisions will be considered after close of final declarations at 12 noon on Monday, 27 December 2010.
NB: AR103(2) requires a minimum top-weight at acceptance time of 57kg.
The weight of the following horses will be increased at final declarations:
    COLOUR CORRECT 57.0kg
    GOD HAS SPOKEN 54.0kg
    GUYNO (NZ) 54.0kg
All other runners will remain on the minimum weight of 52kg (50kg for 3yo's)
ADMIRING is not eligible for a weight penalty as the horse has not won a race subsequent to release of weights. The increase in rating to 96 is due to the placing in the Cox Stakes.

Would presume Tuesday morning, but can't find an official time.

Lets get the quaddie for Perth Cup Day and the Quartet for the race itself.

    What are your selections?

Lets box 6 to 8 horses for 8% in the quartet.

lucky the cup is 2400m , imagine how strong the field would be if it was unique and at 3200m, The one eastern state raider mightn't of even come.
Good move commitee you turned a unique and time honoured race into just another average middle distance Saturday race,,,,,,,,,

Diva, I think that last year at the Blue Duck it was so just so bloody good that it would be difficult to replicate.

had very good organisers last year!

when i say private, I mean invite only. so probably like most of the other barrier draws, owners, trainers, jocks etc.

Im sorry to say he wants to ride Telexden.

I can only hope whoever rides her will listen to instructions if they do they may have a Perth Cup winner. We are not playing silly bugg*** we just cant get the correct Jock. She couldnt be any fitter she is a lot stronger & hasn't puffed after any of her lead up races. Thank all you people for the support & I hope we can land you some money ???

No... but you can get between 150/1 to 250/1 on Rich Success. Has almost got a start. This no nag. Beat Vigor in Melbourne as 3yo and won over 2500m start after. Racing Geraldton 27/12/10.

    Guyno + 54kg + J.Whiting = An enormous e/w chance at 10's.
  • its about this time of year when the horse decides to produce its best aswell, good luck falcon... would probably be my 3rd pick behind ranger and admiring, followed by guyno and mega steel

Big Ted and Guyno in the boxed quartet so far. Any others?
  • you need 2 more selections for a quartet to be succesful
  • still cant work out why RANGER is so much shorter than BIG TED

last time they met at level weights there was a sht head between them

at there respective next starts both performed well but arguably BIG TED was the better staying effort running 2nd outside the speed in 2.08.79 whilst RANGER ran home from well back but perhaps has some question mark over further

that decision amazes me actually! I notice paddy booked to ride......not sure he will be able to pull it off, then again, not sure too many others could (barring dasher). Crossing my fingers he can follow instructions...midfield the fence is just of no benefit to your horse! Best of luck with it because its a most winnable race.

The only difference I can see is the cerise and white silks!

Only two bets so far for me, Mega Steel e/w at 34's and Big Ted e/w at 18's
  • correct me if Im wrong but looks like the handicappers have used discretionary powers for the last spot

Kawatiri 71 1st emg whilst Guest Wing 69 has made the field

Very fair call by the handicapper, della. Don't try to stir the pot.....
