Top 8 is (nearly) set, 6 weeks in to the season.

Geelong to come in, for North.

    Collingwood the only ?
Could come in, but for whom ?

Have a look at our draw. To be 3 & 3 after 6 has as set up nicely to win at least 8 of our next 10... at least!

Ok, so we've gone 1 -1 since then, need to win 7 of our next 8. I still think this is possible (although, more injuries could kill us). The Pies next 8...

St Kilda - ES = Win
    Dogs - ES = Win
    Freo - MCG = Win
    Melb - MCG = Win

    BYE

    Carl - MCG = Win
    Suns - MS = Win
    Ess - MCG = Win
    WCE - MCG = Win

The obvious danger games are Demons on the Queens birthday and, as much as it pains me to say... WCE. Having said that, we'll know a lot more about WC by the 15th of July!

They have a bit more of a rocky (AND LENGHTY) road to the G with games against; Richmond (H), Hawks (A), Swans (A), Crows (A) & Giants (H).

Their only trip to the G was a scrappy 10 point victory over Carlton in round 5.

So my friends, in a few months, the PIES will be nudging the top 4 with an 11-5 record, or thereabouts. While the WCE could be back with the pack.

     B-)

    :-bd

    well, well, well, well, well....:)

    Pies. No treloar no hope.
Very impressive victories in the last two games though against quality teams in Carl and GC.
Premiership odds slashed on the back of those.
I will let you enjoy the moment Skids and Old Hendo.
P.S Eagles in heavy training phase at the moment.
    :))

    Heavy trainning phase.... =D>

We're doing what we need to, can't afford anymore injuries though. That side last night was younger than Carltons.

The wiggles are gone mate. You have a short memory, for getting their easy start to the draw and 1st 7 games out of 11 being at Bupa Stadium.

We are going to rip the wiggles a new one at the G.

    Just ask Skidstronamus.

Easy draw Skisstronamus ??? Sydney twice, Richmond (who we smashed) Geelong,Port Adelaide.
Your team was younger than Carlton ? Any Auskick team would give GC a beating at the moment.
Didn't realise youth was a prerequisite for winning a flag.
Anyway looking forward to playing cold pies in a couple of weeks.
Have already penciled in a loss for us because history shows that is what happens.
But we have our eye on the biggest prize in Sept.

The girls prize in September will be a bbq at Simpsons home watching the Grand final on tv.

When "pinger " Treloar pinged his hamstrings your Premiership aspirations pinged with him.
We may be watching the GF over at Simmo's place but your mob will have already have been on the end of season trip and back at pre season training.
Prediction : Gaff back to Melbourne. Any draft picks clubs and players in Melbourne give up as compensation get shipped to Geelong as compensation for Kelly back home to W.A and the Eagles.
Remember where you heard it first. :-?

hahahaha...you two old magpie dreamers....The Weagles have blooded so many young guys....and found out that a few are really not cut out for the top level (Fraser McG can pack his bags now) while somehow getting to the top of the ladder.

Win 3 or 4  for the rest of the season and go to the finals, in a year where no-one expected them to be any better than Carlton........Massive year for the blue and gold....Whereas Collingwood have been in a premiership window for about 5 years and look like finally making the finals....hahahaha..

I know which bus i'd rather be on ;-)

    I know who's dreamin' alright.

Just in time for a few games leading into our finals assault we get back; Elliot, Moore, Varcoe, Reid, Aish & the Faz.

Treloar will be back for the finals.... remember where you heard THAT 1st . :-\"

All over it Skids like you declaring the Eagles had a easy start to the year and 7 games at Optus . How mant times have Collingwood left Melb this year. Oh and the Eagles haven't played Carlton twice already this year . Guess who has

    So what?

And that's right, roll out the old blah, blah bullshit about 'travel'

We have won in Adelaide and Brisbane.

We play sides from Victoria.... guess where?... Victoria! Fancy that hey.

We have about 6 games a year that are a genuine 'home ground advantage'. There's no advantage playing; Richmond, Melbourne, Essendon, Carlton or Hawthorn at the G... it's their Home ground too.

Don't like travelling and want to continually whine about it when there's 16 clubs in other states.... typical eagles tripe. Join the WAFL ir yiu don't want to travel. The wiggles joined the comp, the comp didn't join WA.

Oh FFS, it's like arguing with a dunny door.

Somebody else mentioned the Pies easy draw, I replied, highlighting the wiggles draw started easy, including 7 of the 1st 11 at home.

Simple really.... not for some obviously.

Here, you work out what your mindless babble is about, coz I got no idea what you're on about.

You asked the initial question about travel, all I did was highlight the early draw.
  • spinkingspinking    4,001 posts
Would not be hard to confuse you . You only have to look at your original comment about the Eagles playing seven out of eleven at Optus so your not inferring anything about them traveling in that post. Mindless babble you have a mortgage on it

Yes I m still here Old Hendo.
And you can't have my tickets for the GF.
I want to see Jack Darling exorcise his demons from 2015. I want to see Dusty get stiff armed by the big black panther in front of the MCC members.
I want to see you and Skidstronamus crying in your VB when we hoist the cup.

I was going to interject and be the voice of reason...but it's sport and if you dont get passionate about your team, your horse, or whatsoever it is you support, then there's no point following!!!

Weagles are in an injury lull...they have the basis to get to the big one in September. The biggest test for this team is when Darling comes back... IF he comes back and plays with the same strength as before the injury, they will be there. If he comes back as Jack Darling, we'll be in the bottom half of the top 8 like last year.

But the game against the pies will be a blood bath. This group of young players are gelling really quickly and they'll be wanting to hold onto their spots as the injured start returning. I'll call it Weagles by 25
  • oldhendooldhendo    784 posts
Rio, you would need 25 players just to get close. ;)
