OUTLAW BLUES (Natasha Faithfull) - When questioned, rider stated that she was instructed to
settle the gelding towards the rear of the field and improve wider on the track through the middle
stages. She further advised that the gelding dropped the bit and lost ground from the 800m and
when ridden along in an attempt to make up ground through this section of the race did not
respond initially but was then able to improve and consequently was obliged to race ride from
the 600m and was carried wider as other runners improved. After making the turn into the
straight extremely wide ran on well over the final stages. Trainer Mr. M. Campbell will be
interviewed in relation to the riding instructions and the performance and also his future
    intention with the gelding.

I know and have spoken to some of the owners and what the have said is pretty much the same as what the stewards report reads. Jock rode to instructions but the horse dropped the bit and didn't respond until the 600m mark where he made up considerable ground (including I think home in the fastest 600m for the day)
