Ascot R1. Pink\'s Bacteria Eliminator Plate Preview - Matt Rigby
Some good chances in the first of the day. Ive come back to the unraced Coruscation. He looks a ready made racehorse. I found negatives with Flying Zoe backing up and Oratism with Ikenushi aboard with the absence of O'Donnell. Trichologist, De Jersey and Balmont Girl also chances.
2. CORUSCATION - 4. ORATISM - 3. FLYING ZOE

Ive not been a fan of Magnifisio but he impressed me with his last run, working outside the leader and proving too strong. Virtual Trader may choose to lead and is probably best in front. I though his trial was good. Western Blaze benefits greatly from the riding change and while this may be a bit short, there should be a genuine pace. Dream Lifter was most impressive at Albany, but in much weaker company. He may get buried on the fence is the concern and looks to require plenty of galloping room. Songburg also a chance and the smokey is Prince of Stars, who looked ordinary last start but the blinkers were removed and back on for this.
2. MAGNIFISIO - 1. VIRTUAL TRADER - 4. WESTERN BLAZE
The two favourites should dominate again here. I have Operational shading Ningaloo Blitz with the weight turnaround and one more run under his belt. He looked to have their last meeting shot to pieces before peaking and being run down late. The old champ Bombard (that term used very loosely) should lead with Luminal applying pressure. The only chance of an upset is Jim 'n' Jim if you can forgive his Albany run, which I can. He's only a little bloke and back to 55kg after carrying 58.5kg at Albany should suit better. I've figured Toned for a miler or thereabouts and think he may not have the same zip at 2200m.
3. OPERATIONAL - 2. NINGALOO BLITZ - 8. JIM 'N' JIM
There should be plenty of pace here again with the likes of Noname City, Rouge Dior and Right Time. Who could believe the run of Rouge Dior last start, taking them on and holding them off? She rises substantially in weight but so does Tiger Pete who sat wide and didnt finish off behind Flashy Doll. Ive forgiven him and McGruddy will ride him cold and he has a withering finish. Right Time should apply pressure and will have to do it hard. Modello can also swoop from the back. The improver can be Teen Idol who has over raced at his last few and the winkers come off, he'll no doubt have to sit back.
2. TIGER PETE - 3. ROUGE DIOR - TEEN IDOL
Its against my better judgement but Im tipping Flashy Doll and she owes us nothing after specking her at 100/1 last start. She impressed although was probably flattered in winning so well. She was fresh off a bleeding attack aswell and these horses tend to go best fresh. Galiletto should get the front but won't get it all his own way with Ten Aces in the race. Both those front runners have claims, as does Red Hot Sax who will box seat. Dash For Home has had his chances. My roughie is Verdello Blue who trialed well.
2. FLASHY DOLL - 5. GALILETTO - 4. VERDELLO BLUE
Its hard to split these two at the top of the market. Antique belle is a classy filly who had no luck at her last two starts. She kept on first up, despite racing wide and being sooled forward early. Express Service is a big strong fellow and will be up front. If the Pontiff can steal a break, Antique Belle might not catch him. Bippo No Bungus a chance but I prefer the other two with runs under their belts. Apocalypse now is the chance to upset and McGruddy back on is a plus. Brocky's Deal has also done nothing wrong. Ill tip Express Service based on value.
1. EXPRESS SERVICE - 4. ANTIQUE BELLE - BIPPO NO BUNGUS
Peggies Dream should get the front and be very hard to beat in the Cyril Flower. Bombora and Watermans Bay will both need some luck from their barriers. Mabel Grace will probably sit outside Peggies and the weight won't worry her. If Adam has her forward enough, shes a chance to upset. Heavy Set is the smokey but must have problems with only one start in his summer campaign. He's worth a spec at $17 but White needs to bring him down the outside.
9. PEGGIE'S DREAM - 4. BOMBORA - 13. WATERMANS BAY
Theoretically, there should be a ton of pace in the last with Even Astar, Helena Miss, Pure Heaven, The Blues and Mia China Doll all capable of going forward. With a few of them drawn poorly, it might be a case of which rider is able to slot behind the speed. The trial of Helena Miss was impressive and if she can drop in and settle ok, she'll be very hard to beat with the 53.5kg. Mia China Doll may get posted or at the very least have to do work to lead. I See Luck, Military Secret, Fighters Second and my smokey Lets Lighten Up will all be suited. Rose looked average first up and went better second up, but I cant tip her. Im tipping Helena Miss but definitely having a spec at Lets Lighten Up at around $20.
11. HELENA MISS - 7. LET'S LIGHTEN UP - 15. MIA CHINA DOLL
