Durrant dominance set to continue
The State's leading trainer Adam Durrant has dominated the Albany Cup in recent years, winning five of the last six editions, and he looks set to maintain his stranglehold this year with last start Geraldton Cup winner (2) ORA DARE being our top pick. The five-year-old was doing his best work on the finish line when out-staying (4) PASEO DEL PRADO at Geraldton 22/03 and he was only racing third-up on that occasion, so Durrant should be able to extract further improvement here. (1) GLOBAL FLIRT has turned in two brave performances back-to-back in the Bunbury (12/03) and Pinjarra (29/03) Cups, and he does appear to be the likely pace maker and will take some running down. Trevor Andrews is the hottest trainer in WA after a feature-race double at Ascot last Saturday and he saddles up (4) PASEO DEL PRADO, who must rate among the main fancies after his Geraldton Cup showing. And for fourth we have thrown in last year's runner-up (7) DANECLICKED whose form has been solid in lower-grade races but will appreciate dropping down to 54kg here.
