R8. Toll Colonel Reeves Stakes - 1 January 1970

W.Pike Show
Hoping Simon Miller already has his big meeting winner in the previous and we can get Liberty's Gem beaten here. Hard to see a spot in running for the Statue of Liberty Gelding drawn in barrier 8 with an absolute abundance of speed drawn inside him. The sparks are set to fly with Dawn Approach, Smoko, Madassa, Cool Trade and the fleet footed Sheidel likely to lock horns in an early speed battle. With all this going on out in front I am super keen on the chances of returning sprinter Watermans Bay and the WA Messiah, William Pike. While his first-up form is only average I thought his trial victory last Monday was simply sensational and with Pike riding like a God at the present the others will want to be pretty good to hold him out. The race maps perfectly for him to settle backwards of midfield and smoke the pipe while the rest of the runners battle it out in front before sweeping down the middle of the track to victory. Cool Trade gets the nod for second at $8, a big price about a mare who is so genuine and consistent. Sheidel faces her toughest test to date and Carbery will be looking to run and stun them out infront.

25,000 if correct is a catastrophe. From memory, demand had the market bouncing around 9,000 dwellings, high demand was anything less than that, but 14-16,000 was a glut. So if 25,000 is correct then that is the worst possible environment to talk about a major...

That is nothing but a story from a developer, it does not reflect the 14,500 dwellings currently listed with agents. There are apartments all around Belmont at every point of the compass and within two km's of the track that are struggling to sell. Some have ...

Can't see it happening due to an ever declining residential real estate market. Been saying this for two years and it is only getting worse.
