Absolute
Tony Greig once described a Shane Warne leggy as a "ripsnorting" delivery, a rarely used Northern American colloquialism for intense and I do believe it is the best word to outline the field for the final race of the day. In my selections I've settled on Fiddler's Elbow from Celebrity Miss and Dream Lifter, that has left out Wild Stratus winner of all 3 races, highly talented Back To A Walk, first-up track specialist Miki Two Toes and last start fancy Mendicity. 11 of the 14 runners have collected over $100 000 in prize money and 8 of the runners have recorded a win inside their last 4 races. If you're pin pointing one in the last as your best bet then you're a very brave man because this field oozes class and quality and I anticipate the finish to indeed be an absolute "ripsnorter". I've gone with Fiddlers Elbow who simply didn't handle the rain affected track, if it does happen to rain again on Saturday then one would image he will drift like a Japanese Toyota AE86 but should the track hold up as a Dead4 or even somehow dry out into a Good3 then expect him to be the big improver. Celebrity Miss reunites with W.Pike who could be looking for potentially a 4th or 5th winner for the day so beware the inform wizard. Dream Lifter got splits at the right time and was charging first-up over 1000, perfect second-up record and right in the mix. Wild Stratus has an unblemished record but contends with an awkward gate. This looks like being a very handy form line reference for coming weeks and I am already eagerly awaiting the last from Belmont and will be watching from Sydney firmly grasping a cold beverage (or six).
