Is it Trading's Day?
Trading Day returns for new trainer Warren Wilson, son of the late John Wilson Snr. This is a tough, tough race to dissect and in the end I think he is the best priced horse. Obviously I am wary of his scratching last week and being first-up over 1400m but he looks poised for a Railway Campaign and a rising star of WA racing according to many, especially certain Perthturftalkers. Pearly White has ridden him to 4 victories and 6 placings and definitely shows his best in the saddle when aboard this son of Trade Fair. Meets Fuchsia Bandana 2.5kg better at the weights having beaten her by 1 length on May 17. Express Service should get a fairly soft lead from barrier 8 and personally I think he is the better of the two McAuliffe runners engaged here. Strike the Stars is a newcomer to WA and joins the Morton stable for his first run since December last year but did finish within 2 lengths of Boban in the Group 1 Emirates at Flemington, interesting to see how he goes first-up but certainly has ability. Stagnite, a ripping pick up ride for JJ Brown faces his toughest test while last years Derby winner Respondent returns to the track and is sure to have admirers.
