This is a fantastic way to finish off the day with a super-competitive rating 58-plus handicap that includes two of the best performed mares in the Great Southern this season in (1) THE DANEHILL ROSE and (2) CANNA LILY, as well as another four genuine winning chances. We have decided to stick with (1) THE DANEHILL ROSE, who produced a slashing effort when returning from a let-up in 70-plus company at Albany 8/02, having won her previous three outings in this region during November and December. Trainer Paul Hunter has this mare humming and his daughter Casey rides her extremely well, and we expect (1) THE DANEHILL ROSE to get the cash. (2) CANNA LILY is racing in fantastic for in 2015 and chased home Soldiers Salute last start, who went on to place in 70-plus company last start. Has all the form on the board and she gives herself every chance by being able to go forward in her races. The main danger. (4) ANCIENT SPELL showed he was on the upwards curve when leading and finishing second at Albany 8/02 last start at his third run back from a spell. Much better than his current 60 rating suggests and is expected to figure prominently, and (12) VICTOBOUGG doesnt win all that often but ticks a lot of boxes here being race-fit, on the minimum weight and jumping from a good gate.
